1.
great venue.. played there myself coupla weeks back
Hi 3V17C, I have to agree it’s a great venue to play, the house PA is pretty good and the sound guy (Argentinean chap) made a really good job of miking up the drums and amps and balancing the whole mix. We found all the staff great to work with, Kevin (the doorman) looks great in his 20’s suit and trilby hat makes everyone welcome. The bar staff were good, even gave us a couple of free beers – bonus . The place has a Blues vibe, great venue. Let me know if your band is playing there again, I’ll come along. Oggy
 2.
That was a good night out! Thoroughly recommend 'Blues Trinity' if Rock/Roll/R&B is your thing - Tim, you did a fine job. Liked the way the sets hovered around the Bluesbreakers/yardbirds era - not many bands do that (& miss out IMO). Wish I could have stayed, but was relying on the last bus etc. I've just about recovered. Not from Tim's low-end assault (like being punched in the chest!), but from the dreadful overpriced lager that was just about all that was on offer. Seeing no handpumps, I asked if they sold Guinness... "We're a Bar, not a Pub" was the rather snotty reply, so I then asked "OK, what've you got that isn't Lager?"... "Bourbon, we're not a Pub, we're a Bar". Beck's Vier - it's cold, fizzy, yellow, has no taste, doesn't appear to get you drunk, but does give you a headache. Pete.
Hi Pete, Thanks for coming along and the recommendation; always appreciated from a player. I’m afraid Bluesbreakers / Yardbirds era is in the blood and just has to be played – showing my age again. Pity you couldn’t stay until the end though, never mind –next time perhaps. The ‘Low End Assault’ was to make sure that your heart kept pumping when you discovered that there wasn’t any Guinness or a decent Bitter to be had; sort of ‘heart massage’ from the Bass for you . Let me know where and when you’re playing next Pete; one good turn deserves another – I’ll be along, might even bring a ‘Party Seven’, remember them . Thanks again, really do appreciate the support. Tim (Oggy )
 3.
Great gig, nice venue, some of my favourite songs too. Cracking! Great to hear walk in my shadow too - check out the Free version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXjQaZPvzeQ Got piles of pics - pm me Tim and I'll send them once I've got them back. Thanks for a great night!
Hi Dave, Thanks for coming along to the gig; I’m really glad you enjoyed the set and the venue. I have to say that the sound guy made it real easy for us; he knew what he was doing. We found all the staff at Charlotte Street Blues Club really good to work with, just hope we get another shot at playing there. I’ve had a listen to Free doing Walk In My Shadow – what a great version. We’d only been through the Joe Bonamassa version twice before we played it at the gig, might have to change our take on it now I’ve heard Free. I’ll drop you a PM with my address / phone number; I’d sure like a few of the pics you took. Nancy took a load with her digital camera, got one of you and Pete (Bloodaxe) that I’ll email to you (might even post it on the site – with your permission). I couldn’t help notice that Chrissie took a bit of a shine to you – Mmmmmm . Thanks again for coming along and giving us your support, we’ll do the same for you when you’re playing. Tim (Oggy)
 4.
Will try and get there if work not too bad. Like to see those Gibsons in action!
Hi, with the greatest respect, turd, The SG will be there with it's new buddy 'Mustang' as backup. You just gotta see the Mustang; it's so retro even I look like a teenager next to it . Hope you can make it; if you do introduce yourself - nothing like another bass player to talk to. Oggy
 5.
I drive my DLSR in either Auto or Tulip mode. Point, let it decide it's in focus, pull the trigger & see what develops. I'm no photographer, but get lucky sometimes. Don't mind having a go if I make it, but don't expect miracles Pete. ps... FOUTR is on my "banned" list, unless everybody agrees on where the stops are. I've had too many "Further On Up The Trains Now Colliding At Platform One" to want to ever do it in public ever again ever.
"A DLSR" - What the???????????????? I was thinking more on the lines of a Kodac Browni 127 . Be great if you can make it, don't worry 'Further On Up The Road' ain't on the play list. 6.
Might do, not sure yet... When's the kick-off? P.
Hi Bloodaxe, Kick-off is 8:30 pm, 3 x 45 min. sets, they like to make you earn your few bob . Entrance is free, god knows what they charge for a pint though , couple of good pubs 'Further On Up The Road' . Hope to see you. Tim (BC handle - Oggy ) PS. You any good with a digital camera? I'd sure like a few shots of us on a proper stage instead of crammed into a corner at the usual pub gig.
 7. Great looking bit of kit Tim. Just got my re-furb Mustang back this last weekend, pic's coming on the Porn Section, I'm getting GAS for this though - a Precision that wouldn't swamp me - Oh yes. Good luck with the sale. Oggy
 8. Hi Fellow Basschatters, Just a brief ‘heads-up’ on behalf of our band BLUES TRINITY. Blues Trinity Web Site - Have a listen We’ve a gig tomorrow night 6th July at ‘Charlotte Street Blues Bar’ Charlotte Street Blues The Blues Bar in London 74 Charlotte Street, London, W1T 4QH It’s a free gig in a nice venue and quite a ‘big deal’ for us, we don’t often get the chance to play in London proper. If any of you guys are at a loose end, we’d love your support. Blues, Old Style R&B and Blues / Rock. Oggy Gig Result The gig went really well; Pete (Bloodaxe) and Andy (Turd) turned up: From left to right Pete / Andy. Pic's from the gig: Mike (Drums), Tony (Six Stringer), Tim AKA Oggy (Four Stringer) and a shot of the whole band: I know we're not smiling - it's Blues; or as my Misses calls it "Music to slit your wrists by", very unkind . Great place to play, hope we get invited back. Oggy
 9.
As I recall 317 won first prize and 321 second but the winner was not present so they drew again............... Wish youd stayed now dont you
AGGGGGGGggggggggggggggg. Yeh right Nice one. Oggy
 10.
I should think that would apply to any music, or Bass playing. Garry
Hi Garry 'lowdown', You're Sooooooooooo right. I do wonder sometimes though - I thought perhaps it was a secret or I'd discovered the Holy Grail. I just love to hear those ‘metronome player’ that have a problem playing just before or after the beat to give a tune life. Oggy
 11.
Just go onto YouTube and play along with as much BB King, Freddie King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Luther Allison and Sherman Robertson etc as you can.
Now this is the way forward - worked for me. Blues Bass Playing - All About FEEL. Listen and play along to as much as you can, get a Tacscam bass trainer (ebay). For Blues / Rock it has to be SRV and Joe Bonamassa, some great bass playing. Welcome to the world of Blues / R&B and Blue Rock - you'll love it. Now, where was I? Oh yes I remember - Got up dis morning' - dah, dah, dah, dah dah Oggy
 12. Hi Basschatters, Anyone know who won the raffle prizes at the bash? I've just found my tickets in my wallet (315 - 325 incl.) - living in hope? Oggy
 13.
Thanks Grahame Surprised of the little interest so far!
So am I, especially as it has the protective gig bag AND foot switch included. I’ve had mine now for a few months – great amp at a really good price. Oggy

 17. ------------------------------------------- I’ve just bought a Fender Mustang (CIJ) + Vintage Case + Great Fender Strap from Colin (basshead56) in Ireland. I'm over the moon with the Mustang, I've been looking for one for ages, Colin came through with the goods. This was the first time for me buying anything from this site from overseas, bit a learning curve with transferring money into a private account using Barclays - Aggggggg . Colin was very trusting, supportive, cool and helpful during the process - the Bass was shipped even though the money hadn't hit his account - 'now that is trusting', his communication is second to none. The packaging was great and the courier he used was fast and careful with the Bass. I'd recommend Colin as a trusted seller 110% . Thanks for all the trouble you went to Colin, really appreciated. Oggy -----------------------------------------
 18.
Bass sold to Oggy. Thanks to all interested.
------------------------------------------- Oh yes, it's all mine , despite the best efforts of Barclays Bank to make payment as complicated as possible. Without Colins help and patience I'd still be looking for the new love in my life. Colin was great to deal with - I'll be giving very positive feedback for 'basshead56' AKA Colin. Thank you Colin, I'll look after her. Oggy -------------------------------------------
 19.
Thanks for the offer Oggy, but i have just bought another amp so dont need to accumulate any more. I see you have a shuttle 6, so you know how nice these things are.
If the Shuttle 3.0 is half as good as the Shuttle 6.0 I have, It'll be a cracker. I used a Barefaced Compact and an Ashdown Mini 15 with it the other night - Ohhhhhhh - the kidneys have just about recovered from the workout now . Oggy

Bought from fellow basschatter "chimike". I have decided to try as many amps as possible and not keep the same one for one for too long so that i can try loads. There are good sound shaping options on here, mid cut, low boost, treble boost. EQ with low/high mids, bass and treble. Any other questions, please ask.
---------------------------------------------- Would you consider doing a deal for one of these: Ashdown Head It's in immaculate condition with Ashdown cover. Out of interest; what's with the 'June 3', was it a film poster? Just love the expressions, I look out for it now - I know SAD SOD . I don't get out much, only to rehearsals and the occasional gig. Oggy ---------------------------------------
 25. Hi Basschatters, Anyone know how to get hold of ‘Dave the bass builder’ mentioned in this thread, any contact details? I know the thread is two years old but I’d like to see if I could contact him and ask him to build me a Fender Mustang (or something similar, short scale) look alike with a few modifications. Long shot I know but hey – worth asking. Oggy
