1. PM'd re: hartke a good few hours ago, forgot to post it (definitely PM'd before bassman as I left Bedford at quarter to 8 and I PM'd before that)
2. Compressors iron out those notes that occassionally boom, so you never really notice them working. I just have a little compression on my amp always on. It does affect your tone, but it also keeps things like my pedals in check, so, for example, my bass micro synth gets louder as it gets lower (as I like extra bass on my pedals so it gets louder), and it just quietens the pedal down a bit and levels it out. If I had the money I'd put each pedal in it's own bypass loop with a compressor/limiter for each pedal to tune it for each pedal. But I'm fresh outa cash
3. Welcome there! have funn... Get out while you still can
4. One that's been cropping up recently - OP means original post(er)
5. cmon, thats just an attention cry- 'look at me I'm powerful!' If it really was as powerful as it implies (which it aint as it's not RMS) then they wouldn't need to boast about it... like apple.
6. I'd say get a nice ampeg head with whatever cab takes yor fancy - mapeg does match ampeg well, though
7. Not sure why, but always prefered a jazz bass. I think it's because my fingerstyle was always very strong, so I can push a J-bass when I'm over the front pickup and get a nice percussive sound, and still get a really rocky sound from the back pickup with just as much power from my fingers - I don't really 'do' soft playing in general. i do soft playing, it's just that my main fingerstyle is about twice as aggressive as most people's, so with a P-bass (with 1 pickup nearer the front) I tend to just push the bass too far all the time - which can sound great, just not 100% of the time.
8. lmao I never realised how similar the stages in a compressor are to that of the toilet. . attack, compression, reaching threshold, and release. hahaa
9. I've used it (g-tard has it). it's OK, but as with everything it's simulating digitally what you can only really get with tubes. I really don't like line 6. esaelp taoc (read it backwards - i was bored)
10. I rheeeely want this but my wallet says no
11.
Yeah quite a bit i guess especially as im not really interested in owning a ODB 3. Sorry :0)
Oh, yah I'd only be looking at £30/£40 off. But np if you dont want it mate. It's the exact same reason I'm selling it believe it or not! ahah
12. wahoo I totally saw Israel Houghton live! I know what you mean. I'm looking into the same thing, and it looks like a midi pickup with a straight forward MIDI output into a mac would be the best option... and the most expensive. i reckon about... £1500 including the mac? lol
13.
That's the dirtiest maple fingerboard I've ever seen.
Simple answer, though to this question... take the strings off.

15. What would be the part-ex price on an ODB-3? obviously quite a lot of money your way

19. haha, there's been wayy too many times where I've turned up with a bigger pedalboard than the guitarist!
20. I'd love to see if one of them had a valve-driven pedal and to watch the steam slowly rise from the pedalboard! I expect they could just buy new ones, or get someone to repair it pretty easily.
21. it'd take you an hour to try and turn them all on anyway! haha
