Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
pantherairsoft replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
Cheers dude... The Devi Ever pedal has done the job the Fuzz Hugger did whilst saving precious space! Loving the glitchy side of it too... Working a treat! -
I saw the 1st half hour. I grew up on him and genesis, an while I'm not a huge fan, I was always happy to listen to him and thought some of his big band live stuff was good. Last night however... I frankly have to say he has lost his touch. His voice is not maturing with him at all. It was whiny and pretty hard to enjoy. I'm sure others and die hard PC fans will disagree... But basically I thought it was shocking and his vocals were a real let down.

As seen in the 'Show us your pedal board thread'. The final (for a while) incarnation of my pedalboard. This is being used for my Drum & Bass project and is getting a lot of use. I'm happy with everything on the board and can't see me changing much in the near future... Ghost Monkey X-3012 ltd edition board All patched with George L's Those not with an individual supply are powered via Diago Powerstation Pedals and signal chain for those who care as follows...
I used to own a peavey 150TNT 15" combo............call me iron man hahahahaha
Ha... Then yes, it's the perfect combo for you! Shep
-
im quite suprised its heavy, I just assumed the TC was quite light,,,,,,dont know where I got that idea from!
Assume that's why you get such a good amp for the price... By not paying for the brands premium 'lightweight' technology so to speak. It's a 2 person lift for it to be comfortable or your iron man. If you can cope with it being 'Traditional' bass amp weight... Then it's a winner!
i was looking to buy one of these when the sale of my fender goes through.........any chance of a wee review brother??????????
If you buy this months copy of Bass Guitar Magazine you will find that I reviewed it there! For what they cost its the best combo I've heard. My drummer prefers it to my EBS stack in terms of tone as well! Very hi-fi sounding, with a good compressor and huge amounts of bottom end and volume on tap. In fact more volume than I know what to do with! Great amp. Very very heavy though! Not exactly a portable beast! An EBS Gorm or Drome is all I'd change it for. Unless I had the chance to pick one up at a silly price, I can't imagine finding a better sounding combo this side of £1000

Something non- EBS from me for a change. I've been using this for my D&B project as I wanted a combo for it. Sounds pretty good and does the job perfect... Do miss the EBS tone though. Anyone got a Drome or Gorm and fancy a swap ;-)
-
I'd agree with the 'Dark' sentiment. Think that owes itself to the Fretless tone though, and depending on your musical needs I can see it working well all round.
Not being a big fan of Barts myself I might have been tempted to go with Nordys. I think they are the same dimensions so it might be worth playing about with later.
I used to feel the same… Bart's never used to do it for me, BUT, with the right wood choice and craftsmanship they just seem to work. They always felt lacking something, but when a set of Bart CB's wen't in my Roscoe… wow! The whole thing came alive. Maybe they just suit the fretless tone great, but I definitely have a new found respect for them!

Agreed. Sound is 50% of it for me. Feel is the other 50%. I agree, I wouldn't swamp any bass with OD unless the music required it. Thats the most important thing… You don't always do 'What You Want'… often its about what the music needs, and if it feels right fattening it up with overdrive then go for it. Karnivool are a great example. Jon Stockman has a stunning Bass Tone, but his distorted tone just sounds amazing, and suits the music perfectly… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjvtx3HMUks...feature=related

No worries guys! Hopefully you can find one or two that work for you and give you a goo starting point to get more out of the pedal. Shep

Looking good. Body reminds me of my Roscoe. Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Jesus! That's changed around a bit since I was last on here. I see you've ditched the MXR Ocatve Deluxe and reverted back to the OC-2. I want to get an OC-2 for comparison to see which I prefer. Cracking board mate.
Thanks bud. The MXR is great. Only reason I got rid was that I bought the Markbass synth and the Octave section of it sounded very much like the MXR! Also at first having 2 Octave pedals seemed a waste. Given the complexity of the stuff I'm doing now where pedal changes are concerned I realised being able to run octve with synth was going to be a good thing. 2 reasons I got the OC2 over another MXR.... 1. OC2 was cheaper... About half the price. 2. OC2 sounds more synth like, and I already had the synth which sounded like the MXR and I decided the choice of 2 Octave down tones would be nice! Just done 3 hours rehearsal. Boards working great, sounding great and generally is great. I actually feel that I'll not be changing anything for a while... And I can't recall feeling like that in a long time! -
Much love for the Moog Ring Modulator. That board looks phenomenal!
Cheers bud. It took some work to get it patched up in a way that I wanted, with the layout that made sense to how much I use the pedals… Ring Modulator rules! -

It's been a long night of cutting George L's cable to length... And my god there's some milage of cable... But the board is finally complete, set up and running! Quick pics taken now from my iPhone, I'll get some better pics in the morn with the aid of a decent camera and daylight! And the night shots.... Love it. -
Quick and easy pedal trade with Tom. Perfect communication and pedal exactly as described! Cheers bud Shep

No worries. The ones I use most are 4, 5, 7, 8 & 9, plus octave 1 & 3. The others have thier place but are seriously odd ( and i run them with with other effects )
