1. I recall seeing band some years ago (Vacant Stare if I recall... but it may not of been them!) and the bassist had what appeared to be a home made strap from a a parachute harness, which looked pretty cool as he clicked the locks into lace in the centre of his chest. I tried to figure out some years later how it was done and how the bass mounted... but the details have eluded me :-(
2.
Or quite smart as the user will have to buy 4 8 ohm cabs to get full power, so if they want an all Ashdown rig, they've sold two more cabs!
Pushing there luck though! No way is anyone going to buy 4 cabs to go with a Little Giant... if you were going to spend that kind of money on a rig, then there are much better options
when i tried the little giant 1000 it sounded a lot better through two superfly cabs than it did abm cabs.superfly cabs are nice and light as well.
But superfly cabs are somewhat hard to come by these days, and slightly over priced when they do crop up. If you search retaillers now, you find the odd 210 covered in dust going for £430 odd quid, which seems a bit high. The head is a great price, it just seems silly there are no nice compact 4Ohm cabs that are reasonably compact, to make the LG1000 a great package buy.
3. So pairing it with the 2 Ashdown Compact ABM cabs (1x15 ans 2x10) is not a functional idea as they are both 8Ohms, putting 8Ohms into each load. WHich seems stupid as Ashdown seem to only make 8Ohm cabs, menaing they make nothing perfect for the Little Giant head... hardly a strong marketing idea!
4. Hi guys been trying to figure this out. Sorry if its been covered before but if you can answer it that'd be great... To get the most out of a 4Ohm Cab, you want either a 4Ohm Speaker or two 8Ohm speaker... this much I know. The Ashdown Little Giant 1000m is a 1000w 4Ohm head, but is split into two separate 500w 4Ohm outputs. Does this mean it should be treated like to seprate 4Ohm amps for working out the out put... Hence, using two 8Ohm speakers would not get the most out of the cab, but using two 4Ohm would (as it would act like a sinlge 4Ohm speaker, in a 4 Ohm amp... but twice) Sorry if i have confused this further :-S Shep
5. Best I ever used was the DOD Ice Box Stereo Chorus. Not directly a bass pedal, but the bass control on it gave such excellent tone that it sounded perfect. The stereo settings worked great as well. Used it for years, along with a DOD Envelope Filter, which was the Best Envelope Filter I ever used as well! Shame they are both tough to find these days :-)
6. Good stuff! :-) And a great influence for many musicians as well it seems :-)
7. I guess You win with that... Fame he didn't have. But his talent you can't dispute! Oh, and cheers! :-)
8. Bill Hicks was more than Nearly Famous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9. Well... my attempt to slowly slip back into bass playing on the cheap just isnt happening. I have clearly become obsessed with the gear again and just when i decide on what I'm going for, something else pretty and even more costly comes along!!! Brill :-)

11. Cheers for the Hello's people, Shep
12. Hi People, New to the forum. I'm Shep. I had been playing bass for 8 years solid, got through a huge range of gear and had an album out on 2001, but I'll keep the band to myself to avoid any insults and negative feedback (:-)). Main usage was Warwick Basses and Ampeg amps. I retired from bass playing at the end of 2007 and have not picked up a bass since. I think the time away has done me some good and left me with my creativity bubbling! I am now seriously considering picking one up again. I'm sure much has changed since I left the scene... but its like riding a bike isn't it :-)? Considering going for one of the few basses I have used but not owned, either a Stingray (everyone has to own one at Some point!?), Warwick Thumb BO (Used to play a streamer quite a bit and always fancied the thumb) or a Wal if I can lay my hands on a pretty one. Hope to speak to people going forwards, Shep
