1. I saw someone else doing this once at Glasgow Barrowlands. I think (like this looks to be) it was DI'd though so the cab would just be for monitoring.
2. Got my ticket for Glasgow aswell, does anyone know anything about the opening act 'Fools Gold'?
3. My band's EP is available for free download at http://holdthesuspect.bandcamp.com
4. I saw the foos in July and he was playing a red fender with black guard, either the Fender in question or one of his custom shop replicas. He occasionally played a Lakland. His tone was really great live, loads of low end but plenty definition!
5. Very interested in this, Nate has had fender custom shop replica's built of his main bass in the past so I don't know how this one will compare.
6. I've got the predecessor to the 34A, the 334A. It's a nice bass but the active circuit really isn't up to much and the overall tone is a bit bright so I use my P-bass mostly.
7. Seymour Duncan SPB-2 is my personal favourite P pickup, I'd definately reccomend it for a Squier P.
8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEyIisL0mJM Rihanna, this video is just unreal! Or Tinie Tempah as I'm a huge fan of his album.
9. +1 for a good bass, I got one mostly for playing chili peppers stuff. Looks like something flea would play, sounds like it too!
10. How does it affect the amount bands on spotify receive? At the moment we have made 75p from around 400 plays, it's not really worthwhile!
11. Despite giving our EP a pretty bad review a reviewer commented - "The deliciously produced bass sound has both the snapping tanginess and the warm smarminess needed for the different dynamics of the song." I almost died of happiness, I then read the rest of the review which described us as "ridiculously cheesy, like a sketch show making fun of an advert." which helped shrink my head back down to size..
12. "Has jumbo frets yo! this gives you that slap schizzle dawg! play like Chilli Peppers and get all the womens." - Tempted...
13. any chance you'd split? I'd only really be interested in the bridge one.
14. Mother's Milk is my favourite album as far as bass playing is concerned.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FrYnqk9xWU...feature=related
15.
This may help, though it is german it is easy enough even if you do not understand the language
As luck would have it my german is pretty good!
16. Laney RB9 head, 300W minimum 4 ohms. 4x10 cab, 8 ohms + 1x10 cab, 16 ohms. I was going to have the small one facing me as a monitor and the big one facing the audience at a gig I'm doing where the bass isn't going through the PA.
17. I have two cabs, both of which are different impedances. If I connect them together the load is still high enough for my head (above 4 ohms). Are there any sonic or mechanical disadvantages/negative side effects to connecting both?
18. +1 for the seymour duncans, got an SPB-2 in my squier P and it totally transformed the bass. Check out the download in my sig for an idea of the tone available.
19. I am massively tempted but already struggle to fit my 410 cab in the car, nay chance of getting an 810 in.
20. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...hl=fanned+frets
21. G&L Asat looks pretty nice actually. Need to get myself to a shop to try the fender/whatever other options they can suggest... Blizzard Pearl is a beautiful finish too
22. Yeah, for that price there are definitely lots of options. The looks of this particular bass though does swing me towards it, aka It's a beaut! I really like the idea of a sort of 'best of both worlds' that this bass has the potential to provide, obviously I can't imagine it being a slap-machine or anything but I'd really like a bass that does both fingerstyle and pickstyle really well. At the moment I have a squier p (upgraded pickup to a seymour duncan SPB-2) which I like for pick stuff but not really for fingers and a Cort HS bass which is great for fingerstyle/slap. Build quality isn't great on either so I am really wanting a bass that is up a level as far as QC is concerned.... It's a big ask really.
