I can't read notation and I struggle with tabs... I can have the chords to the bars written down..
Dm/Bb/A/A/ ect... fine for jazz and stuff...
I would like to be able to sightread though.

Jazz basses make great frelesses. I had the frets stoned to the tangs on mine and fitted a J-Retro.
Had severe gas for a Squier VM fretless as a passive backup. The Vintage Jaco look intriguing though.
Glad you're happy with it John... they do have their quirks but if it plays, feels and sounds nice then hang on to it.
