Best way to ship a bass internationally?
bubinga5 replied to dannybuoy's topic in General Discussion
If we all thought like that knowone would ship anything Danny i shipped two basses at once last week, and it couldnt be easier...I will PM you with a very very cheap shipper.. I dont see any variables? All you have to do is called the company who will ship your bass, pay by card, ask for insurance..They will pick the bass up when you want them to..and thats it....Just make sure you use a hard case with plenty of bubble wrap... I shipped a bass for £65 to Europe...FedEx wanted to charge me £190 believe it or not... The best thing is the company i used, used Fedex!!!???? You have PM Danny.. -
They probably are one of those things you need to try. I love them for their stability and evenness of tone & response. Some carbon fibre necked basses can sound very bright, but I've always found Zon basses to have a comparatively warm sound due to the great active circuits they use (made specially for them by Polyfusion). London? I think you'll find it's in Exeter. They've got some nice Sonus models, but they never have bugger all if you're looking for a Legacy.
right you are sir..edited

Thats what i guessed! anyone know where i can try one?
Mansons in Exeter is the only place i can think of for Zons..they have a wonderfull collection of them...Big £ though http://www.mansons.co.uk/shopping/categori...n-bass-guitars/

Just to say i dont think Warwicks are like Spectors..i could be wrong.. No i havent tried an MTD kingston or Z..A few on here that have though... Carbon fibre necks...Some say lack character, no deadspots, ultra low action achieved, the Zon will be a supreme bass...But really you have to try one..thats the only way...

I have a few... Little out of your budget but, Zon.. or Warwick Spector MTD Kingston MTD Z Series I dont think Sadowsky do a 24 fret 4 string..So as you said it would be a wait while they build you one...Just out of interest do you play that high often? Just to add John Shuker could prob build your spec bass for under £2000..and ive heard it would prob be amazing
And people ask why people think he's one of the worlds top bassists, there's an answer. Slapping sounds rather good through Flea's hands and the filter though.
I really cant see this..there are bassist's in the world who are not known, that could wipe the floor with Flea.. Hes only famous because of RHCP...IMHO Meshel Ndegeocello does this better...Way better Not to say i dont like his playing..
Now, I like that...quite understated for MP. I also liked the white one that was on here in the Sei pron thread.. I am between commisioning one and waiting a while or buying a stock Sadowsky which I can get straight away, pretty much One the one hand, I REALLY like what MP can do..and it will be to my spec, and on the other...??? Maybe I could go for a paint job with a nice neck, etc etc ....decisions..!!
JTUK.. I have owned a Sadowsky and the Sei is alot better feel wise... IMO..Not sure about the NYC's though...which i presume your looking at.. Im not going comment on the Sadowsky tone though because its
You could use any make, but there's no telling how it will sound until you try it. Is there any particular reason why you are opposed to getting a matching Aguilar 212, or is it just curiosity? S.P.
Curiosity... .A Quick Q...My aguilar is 500 watts at 4ohms and 250w at 8 ohms...my 212 is 600watts at 4-8 0hms and i wanted to run a 112...300 watts at 8ohms is this not possible..or would i have to run them in parallel....Excuse my lack of knowledge..
The problem with pairing a 112 (I assume you meant 112, and not 121) with a 212 is that if they are the same impedance, then each speaker in the 112 will be taking twice as much power as each speaker in the 212. Have you considered a second, matching 212? S.P.
No i meant 212 AARGHH..... i would be after a 212 but could you recommend a few makes that i could use alone or match with the Agy.. post edited

Need a cab to add to my Agy 212...I was going to get an another Aguilar 212 as i borrowed one that had to go back, but i was wondering what else i should consider that would fit the 212.... My experience and knowledge of amps/cabs is not great.... Thanks
haha, Well that was my first thought, actually. Also, I don't get a lot of volume out of the 4x10s because they don't quite use up all 300 watts, IMO. I've heard 100watt amps louder than it :/. Well, that's the thing. I 'like' my tone, but I know that I've heard people with similar setups, who have a simply amazing tone. I mean, most of them had ampegs (which is wayyyy out of my price range atm!), but I don't think that people would realy spend all this money on bridges and pickups if there wasn't something in them. Also, my bass is a passive bass, so bubinga5, would a new preamp in it actually fit? Or is this a pedal? I know the tonehammer is a pedal, but when I heard clips on youtube I wasn't blown away by what happened when it got hit. It's also veryy large!
Well some have put preamps in there basses but this means routing...But no an external preamp i mean...Is the tone hammer that big?? Does it matter, its no bigger than an effects pedal or unit....
