Antiseptic sounding and lacking any character, the original fitment Barts were way nicer.
I love Bartolini's Barry.. such a smooth punch to them,,of course this depends on the bass..in the Sei they are superb..but the Nords in the Lakland were equal...
 2.
Fair enough but in the eyes of a 'collector' very neat is not a good as unspoilt As you say it is one of a 100 so it will be collectable - I used to own the bass so know how good it sounds as is!!!
Ha ha sorry of course you owned it.....Am i MAD? well i havent done it yet..i may just try the nordy''s..i really dont think the stocks do the bass justice....im one of those who likes a jazz bass left alone, but im not changing the character of the vintage car just putting new tyres on it..
 3.
hey Thank you for the ostinato i love it ill play it proper tomoz night, hey man if you ever wana good price for that sei jazz 5 let me know;-) once again thank you for your'e time kindest regards ziggy.
No probs John..glad you like it..tis a stonking bass...let me know how you get on!! Ok if major major and i mean major gas ever kicks in i will let you know..
 4.
I'm not sure CS's are going to be collectable?! Even now they lose value! Anyway, still a great bass no doubt! Why not try the nordstrands on their own, and if you're really not happy with a passive sound, whack the pre in Si
Well its a Limited Edition closet classic..only 100 made..not sure if this makes it more collectable.. Yeah that may be the right move Sibob..Im gona have a good chat with Mark and talk about..im not going to do anything to hastey..
 5. Well no Birdy, because an out board preamp will just do what my amp does. thats all a preamp does... i will just have more confusing amp EQ.. It will be done by a pro i know, so will be very neat..
 6. Im uprgrading my 1970 Jazz CS.... i dont want to take anything away from the character of the bass, i just want to enhance it.the stock pups leave me a bit cold....have been talking to Mark at Bass Direct, and he gave me some ideas about this... Im going to see him tomorrow and talk about putting in some Nordstrand NJ4SE pups and Creative Audio Redeemer circuit in the bass..Now this is an active circuit but it wont colour the sound at all, just enhance what is already there..Cant wait to hear what it sounds like.. Also there is NO routing (as i would NEVER do this)..it just pops straight under the control plate and i can always put the original stuff back.. Anyone installed either of these in there jazz....
 7. yeah it really is a joy to play..doesnt feel like 35" stretch either...
 8. Well you learn a new bass fact everyday..thanks Alex of course an outboard preamp will make not alot of difference.. Think there is an Audere circuit i could pop straight in or just some Nord split coils.. Well you gotta learn somewhere..
 9.
Best at what? Using an outboard preamp pedal to make a passive bass 'active' is no different from claiming plugging a bass into an amp makes it active! It's just a load of extra EQ. Alex
Are you saying Alex that if i bought a Tone Hammer it would sound exactly like my AG500? My Question is general because i want to get different opinions on different pedals..whats best was probably missleading..
 10. Great/ no amazing basses for this money...LOOK at that flame neck!!!!!!
 11. WOW im really suprised to hear this about Sadowsky...maybe there having a few quality issues..
 12. I did search this..but im thinking of getting a external pre amp to run the Fender Jazz through for a four string active option. I have no experience of these..are they very good..will it totally change the tone of the Jazz? What are the best...i had an Aguilar OBP2 in my recently sold Ostinato and it sounded awsome..but of course it had EMG's
 13. Pics added......................
 14. This is back up for sale!!
 15. Bump Fender is still available....
 16.
Hmmm grrrr etc !!! Don't tread on my individuality man! If you buy that bass you're supressing my ability to express myself man! And you become 'the man' ...man! (I'm kidding of course I won't mind toooo much as mine is clearly sonic blue and not daphne blue lol.)
excellent
 17.
Nope, and never has. It's a Bart TCT installed by Mr. Sadowsky. It predates the Sad preamp.
Learn a new thing everyday here..!! Thanks
 18.
Lol oh what like white pearloid!!?! Hah hah. You'd have to knock it about a bit before we got em mixed up though!
Thats the way i like my Jazz basses!

 20.
Looks familiar!!!! Thus bubinga I forbid you to buy it! I can't have another bass that similar to mine in this small town!!
Ha ha..so tempting though...ill put a different pickguard on it!!
 21.
Neither does Marcus... his is Bartolini Very sweet looking bass!
Marcus Miller has a Sadowsky preamp in his Jazz..unless he has changed it..
