Just wanted to share this if youve not heard...one of my favorite bands for a long time The Rebirth.. they are a superb band with fantastic harmonies, bass playing and vocals...dont seem to have come out with anything else which is a bummer... some of it was great from 1.00 to 1.30 ish...but some was just pointless scale runs and chords...didnt like the slapping..too many stupid triplets..i cant stand bassists that over do triplets......just stop it!!!!

SC this is frickin awsome.. would love to try a Dingwall...IMO Sheldon really is a pioneer whats the specs, weight, tone etc..anyone know how they compare to the US models? can you give us a bit of a review...oh i do love a good bass guitar review.... much better than Razzle

Slap bass is a technique like any other...im not a big believer that it should overtake someones playing...its an aggressive style that can be used to accentuate a line or passage, depending on your touch... but IMHO although i love MM, it is a technique that should be used wisely..Marcus Miller happens to do it very musically, unlike other pointless ego maniacs who do it for there own gain and showboating....thats the worst kind of bass player

this really is a subjective thing...the phrase 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' is also true for bass tone... the tone of my Sei is not a placebo, but its only my opinion that it sounds good...... i also loved a fender 24 that i had which was a lower priced bass..its how you play it....for want of a better word budget or lower priced instruments can give sooo much if your happy thats cool!!

Just a quick Q.. I have recently joined a band..the guitarist/vocalist doesnt know his theory...now i usually work around a chord structure, but this guy doesnt know his chord names..and i dont play the Git..ar.i could work them out on piano but it will take too long... he has given me 20 original songs to learn but ive got to do it by ear..now this is not a problem but i much prefer to know what chord structure or progression i have to work with im curious to know what you guys/girls would do in this situation...im not one for sticking with roots(unless its required) as i feel you can give the song some better support knowing the chords... any ideas?
