16. Hi guys, I did have this advertised the other day at a slightly lower price... but that was before I had all the information. I had exchanged a few emails with Hans P. Wilfer (president of Warwick) and I have been told by him that this was the 1st Warwick Vampyre to be built... it has a serial number of 2003/001. He mentioned that I should list the bass between £2000 and £3000 for sale. (I can provide all the emails to any interested parties to confirm this, and yes, I have HPW permission to share these!) It is signed by Hans P. Wilfer on the reverse of the headstock and bears the serial number 2003/001 This is a monster of a bass and sounds incredible, it is in excellent condition and has very little signs of wear what so ever, pretty amazing for a bass that was the absolute first of its kind. This is a exert from one of the emails Hans sent me... "Dear Russ, - Vampyre yes it is the Number 1 and you can say that, that I confirmed this.. specs are the same as today with a Quilted Top and yours is an 5 AAAAA Quilted Maple top.. absolut stunning and the price for this Bass new today will be Euro 6.247,00 so you can ask even 2.500 to 3.000 for your Vampyre.. it is the number 1..." I can provide all the other emails if you want as well... This bass is savage in looks and tone, its is a piece of Warwick history, and looks STUNNING! I am based in Wickford, Essex, and I am on 07912222127. (I can arrange it all though!) I may accept trades in the form of 6 string fretted basses, but I am mainly after cash. £1500 is the price! That £3000 less than a new one, and this has the history of being the first of its kind! Let me know guys! Russ.

18. Well, it's amazing what you can find out about an instrument that you didn't know the day before! I send an email over to Warwick today and got a reply about an hour later from Mr H.P.Wilfer, president of Warwick, to tell me that my Warwick Vampyre was in fact the first one to be produced, it has a serial nuber of 2003/001. Hans Wilfer wrote: Dear. Russ, we brought out the Vampyer in 2004 and your Bass is one of the first models end of 2003 which we brought to the market.. and indeed your model is the No. 1 of the Series.. so you are real lucky and you can be very proud to be able to get this model.. very unique.. Beside that.. the model wen`t after n a serial production and we still are doing it by today... With best regards Warwick GmbH & Co Music Equipment KG H.P.Wilfer 27.02.2013, 16:24 President I am pretty stunned by this... It's damn cool to own THE FIRST Warwick Vampyre ever made... crazy. I did have this up for sale, but I'm not sure I can now. Just wanted to share this! Thanks, Russ. 19. the serial number does tell you the date, I believe its april 1979. This pictures do make it look shiny! but there are a few scratches and dings as you'd expect for a 34 year old beast.
20. Hey guys, Time to flip this bad boy again...I really need this gone to afford something here on the lovely BassChat! She's a 1979 Black Ibanez Roadster, 34 years old. Fresh Rotosound strings on her. It plays like a beast, lovely deep flapping tone with the tone dial all the way down, when you switch it up she's really tight with a crisp hi-fi tone. I love it But I need some cash right now. The sound is constantly likened to a musicman stingray, and that's definitely not far from the truth! £230 for that vintage musicman sound? Surely someone?? I'm asking for £230 collected, or £240 delivered in a half decent padded gig bag. (Will pad her out so she's safe!) Shes got a few little scars, but nowt major. There are 2 little filled holes by either side of the strings just above the bridge where I had a midi pickup fitted. I'm on 07912222127 and based in Wickford, Essex. Someone grab this 4 string legend before I change my mind! Russ.
