  1. Do you have a black grill pair?
  2. Hi, (Putting this back up for sale at a reduced price of £999 to fund a home studio set up). This is very much a feeler at the moment as I don't really want to get rid of it! But... I could do with paying off holiday costs, so I'm putting this up for now, but may withdraw it shortly! To get the bad out the way first, there is a thin crack, a few inches long that runs between the pots, it's been there for 15+ years and is 100% stable. Needed to be said though. Overall the bass is in excellent condition, everything works 100% with no crackles or anything! The action is low and the truss rod works smoothly. These really are superb 6 string basses, one of the very best stock 6ers available. The bass currently has solid metal gold knobs which are not stock, I do however have the original knobs so will include these. Any questions, please ask. I'm sure someone will be along to quickly request weight, scale, string spacing etc. etc. I will post this tomorrow when I get the chance to double check everything. Someone maybe already know all of this and post the details before I do! Russ.
  3. Given these are £1399 new pretty much everywhere online, £550 for a near mint one is crazy. I don't understand why this is still hear! The specification of this amp is incredibly high, I suspect if it had any other badge (Aguilar/Mesa/Ampeg) it would have been scooped up instantaneously.
  4. I'd be very tempted by these if I didn't live in Basildon! If I put these on my car everyone would assume it's a reference to Basildon and I'd likely be stabbed almost instantaneously!
  5. Right there in the first paragraph! 😂
  6. I actually recently sold an Overwater 7 string to GuitarGuitar, they offered me a decent price, in fact what they offered would have been the price I intended to list it for on BC, and it was more than I initially paid for it. It was instant cash and saved me any faffery with postage or waiting 12 years for it to actually sell! The price was agreed via an email consultation, funnily when I took the bass to the store to do the deal the chap behind the counter was clearly very surprised about how much he had to pay for it! Honestly, I think they're going to struggle to sell it! They have my Overwater 7 (one of them, the lesser one at that!) and I have their Mesa Boogie Strategy 8:88, which was already reduced from £3,600 to £1,499. Win for me.
  7. Played a gig in Saaaaaaafend a few years back and the venue had a drum riser that wasn't quite big enough for our drummers kit, during the first song one of his cymbal stands fell and the cymbal edge guillotined straight through the master stage power cable and shorted out the entire venue! The power running through said cable must have been pretty immense as the edge of his cymbal (A fairly thick Sabian AAX I seem to remember) looked like someone had taken an arc-welder to it. Proper smelted!
  8. Think there is someone after one of these in the Wanted section...
  9. G4M have upped their prices on their Damaged stock. Used to be much better discounts! Their descriptions of the damages are pretty vague and terrible, usually to lull you into buying it. It's a hard pass on this for me! Also, the 'RRP' price they use is the manufacturers RRP which hardly any shops use, most sell for circa 10% below RRP to be competitive, if not more. So make sure to check the true 'new' price. Don't be fooled!
  10. De Gier are fantastic basses, the build quality is absolutely excellent. Sander knows how to build superb basses. I have two Elevation 6 strings and I doubt I'd ever sell them! Who ever buys this will not be disappointed.
  11. Shame it's not 24 frets else we'd be talking!
  12. West System Epoxy has been recommended. A two part epoxy, I will try this and sse how I get on!
  13. So, I've been giving Binky a long overdue full set up and clean and I have a bit of an issue with 3 of the wooden rabbit machine heads... I've known of this issue for a few months but haven't done much about it as frankly I've not played Binky in a few months! (Had a few new basses come in that have kept me occupied!) The 'spool' on the Hipshot Ultralite machine heads are round with a thread at the end that screws into the bottom of the rabbits, as the rabbits are wood the inner thread of the rabbits is starting to disintegrate (Binky is nearly 15 now!) I'm finding it a bit of a challenge to resolve this and currently tuning the highest 3 strings is a massive headache, you can tune up to a certain resistance but when you start getting the string up to near correct tension the wooden machine heads slip and you can't quite get it in tune. I've just cleaned the inside of one machine heads to get rid of any wood dust and done the same with the metal thread, I've loaded the inside of the tuner thread with Gorilla Glue and screwed it back on, given the machine head screws onto the spool in the direction of down tuning, I fear that when I go to tune it, it will just slip again despite the glue. Anyone got any thoughts as to a permanent solution to this? And no, getting rid of the wooden rabbits and replacing them with metal heads is not an option!
  14. If you were closer I'd happily have the Busters off of you! Don't suppose you come anywhere near Essex do you?
  15. He'll take £200 for it... super tempted!
  16. Yes, I know politics is a dark topic here on our fair basschat, but this is a once in a lifetime moment that surpasses such rules in my opinion and affects us all. I for one am deeply saddened by this turn of events, but that is not the point. We now have limited time to trade with our EU friends so let us celebrate by completing as many trades/sales as possible! Goodbye my trusted EU friends, I have enjoyed trading/buying/selling with many of you. I hope that this sinister day does not darken our world of bass trading. We are as one. We are one species. One we must remain long past our dark days. I for one will always be as in spirit as part of the one despite my countrymen's better judgement. Fair well kind EU, may our differences not darken our future. Xx
  17. Cort make some seriously underrated basses.... I've owned a few A6 basses and still have a Tanglewood Baron 6 (of which the A6 was based) and they are really exceptional beasts. You would need to spend twice/three times this for a 'branded' comparable bass.
  18. These are great basses! If I didn't have a TRB6P I'd be very tempted.
  19. At the sacrifice of my own most likely! We'll have to share your wife. 😂
  20. Found it! Offer made.
  21. I'm not a Fender man, but if anything would temp me to the dark side it would be this! Right nice.
  22. Same here! Though through private message he did say £1000 outside of eBay. Tempted to punt £800 and drive up there!
