1. Yep BGM is the best out there as far as i'm concerned. It has it's US counter-part but that's usually 75% adverts, with a few reviews and interviews chucked in for good measure.
2. My RBX775 served me well, i'd consider it a mid-ranged instrument and sounds and looks great. I defretted it this year as I didn't want to part with it but had better fretted basses (Jazz/Stingray). It's likely to be a keeper.. since 2nd hand Yamaha prices are stupidly low. The BB614 I had i'd GAS'd over for ages, it was a great instrument but like some people say, didn't have that vibe a Fender can have.
3. £13 an hour ? That's pretty steep ! I pay £9 an hour and could get £6 during week days.
4. I get the pleasure of a Peavey TNT115. That on it's own would be ok if it wasn't so knackered.. it's apparently 250w (4ohms) so is more like 150w on it's own. It's just about enough but is often a bit farty sounding..
5. Ok by law you need to get a tort or black pickguard on that and it will look the dogs.
6. 1-10.. if you managed to get 6 o' clock on your EQ you've broken it..
7. The cab will only use it's full power at 4ohms, which means it needs an additional cab hooked up. At 8ohms (on its own) it will develop around 120w. As an upgrade from a 100w Rumble it probably isn't worth it... (Honesty sucks sometimes).
8. I generally set my EQ flat and work from there. For my basses it's usually: Stingray: Bass: 5 Low Mid: 7 Mid: 5 High Mid: 7 Treble: 5 (With bass/high boost switches enabled) Jazz: Bass: 5 Low Mid: 5 Mid: 6 High Mid: 7 Treble: 7 (With bass/high boost switches enabled)
9. Exact same EQ as my EB-180. What sound are you after and what type of bass do you have ?
10. I've no idea why i'm posting here since it's a bassists forum but oh well ! I'm 24 and seeking a funk/rock/metal (i'm not fussy) band for light hearted fun. No mega serious "we think we'll be famous" bands please. Covers bands considered also. I've decent gear and my own transport.. Email machinesofhate at blueyonder dot co dot uk (work it out).
11. Eeek you offered him a Warwick... stand back !
12. eBay it with a reserve - would be better than any Cash Converter type place.
13. Well Drop D only takes 2 seconds to dial in so one bass for that, another for Drop C ?
14. If I were downtuning to CGCF i'd definitely use 50-110.. using a 5 string is indeed a pain for this kind of tuning.
15. I'm trying some out at MusicLive with BassDirect next weekend, will let you know .
16. Have played this bass and it's gorgeous.. sounds the proverbial dogs. How come you're parting with it Al ?
17.
by OD do you mean the preamp selector knob?
The ABMs have a tube circuit which can be blended in.
18. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1964-Fender-Stratoca...1QQcmdZViewItem He could at least throw in free postage...
19. Great bass and great price.. nothing more to say really .
20. Apparently Mark King has one.
