1. Yep you're late to the party http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=82230
2.
This Blonde version is legit, no photopokery...
I'd take this fairly seriously .
3. Fantastic, the colour of the original Squier puts me off but this is awesome.
4. Hi welcome to the forum. Please see our For Sale Guidelines and once you're familiar with them - you can post in the For Sale section here. There's a subforum for basses, amps, effects and misc equipment .
5. You have to compare the Ash Corvette to the $$ rather than the Bubinga one. They're the same in neck and body wood but the $$ has more complex electronics. It has 2 humbuckers with coil taps for each pickup. You will likely get a more aggressive sound from it. Both will still have the signature Warwick sound however .
6. Nice, just like mine before I defretted and refnished it (badly) a few years ago. Nostalgia in place .
7. I think a lot of GAS in general is down to familiarity. After you've had something a while you get used to it and it becomes predictable. Half the fun of getting something new is playing with it to see what it can do - after having the same amp for a while, it can become boring. Same with basses really - just the differences are less pronounced with new amps.
8. Don't think I could get anything on credit again, psychologically it's a burden.
9. Wow that was quick ! Only round the corner from me as well.
10. Yes, I nearly stupidly sold it though ! Common sense has now prevailed. As for this one - it's construction is flawless and it is a definite super-jazz. It'd wipe the floor with a US Fender and needs a permanent home ! Tone and playability are top notch, I only passed it on as a Jazz bass wasn't what I was looking for tonally in the long term. The price is very fair also.
11. Still lookin' good I see. Thumbs up from me for leprechaun - he sent me his Overwater before I could post this to him .
12. Website doesn't mention anything about cancellation, got a source or reason why ?
13. I sense a proper reply coming.
14.
When Machine's asked us to use as little disc space as possible it takes the pee a little when someone quotes a post with a few large pictures. Kinda defeats the object. This happens quite a lot, maybe someone could put up a notice asking people not to quote entire sale posts? I'm very irritable and I don't like scrolling down a thread to re-read what was at the top! Truckstop
Thanks for the concern Truckstop. However quoting images won't use any more disk space as they're only stored once. There's possibly a few Kilobytes extra by quoting the text/code but it's negligible. The point regarding it being highly irritating still stands though ! Al - I think you should keep this one. Buy something else, put this in it's case and hide it away and come back to it in a few months. You'll realise then how you're glad you kept it.
15. Link fixed. Those websites do custom ones too .
16. Glad to see I could help .
17. And there was me saying I didn't have anymore GAS. Good luck with the sale, someone is going to get a bargain.
18. I would have thought direct from Sandberg would be your best option ? If you want a custom one made try Aurora Project or WD Music.
19. Do you want me to give him a nudge for you ? Perhaps they could still come ?
20. Upload to http://www.imageshack.us - use the option to resize it to 1024x768 and it'll fit better on screen .
21. Hi mick, sounds like an older normal Tanglewood rather than the new Overwater ones. The pickups shouldn't need to be up to a certain standard to be gigged, if it sounds OK then they're good enough !
22. Ok, bass is staying. Rather than shopping it in for a couple of sounds it can't do, I'll appreciate it for what it can do (which is a lot). Just gave it a good clean/polished the brass bridge saddles. After I put it back together I am quite sure it sounded brighter - the power of Brasso eh ?! Maybe I inhaled too much.. Oddly, the Stingray GAS has subsided..

Fender

It's a lot to do with brand for sure, same with Gibson. They aren't the best, far from the worst but so many big names have used them that people are attracted to them to emulate their heroes. This allows them to charge a bit more than equivalent quality instruments from other lesser revered brands.
24. Good idea(s) ! I'll email both and see what the options and costs are .
25. Try experimenting with the export/archive function in your Messenger. It can send you an email in .xls or HTML that you can search through on your PC. If that's not good enough we'll have to see what IPBoard V3 brings !
