1. Yamaha RBX775. Bought by my parents in 2004 as a 21st birthday present, i've since butchered it a bit with a defret and refinish (the latter is getting done again this summer !). It's actually a damned good bass which took me a few years to realise ! Will get it refnished, rewired and back into a useable instrument this year. Vintage VP6. My first guitar from 2002, bought new for £110 (which would have been a decent 2nd hand price too). It's worth sod all now but me and the VP6 got history ! Very good neck on it and after changing the pickguard from 1 ply white to 3 ply black, it looks awesome. Also has a great sound i've not managed to replicate in other guitars i've tried.
2.
so delete your avatars if you want to save space.
Max avatar size is 200KB. We have apx 12000 members, even if they ALL used an avatar at the maximum size that'd only be 2.34GB. I have more space than that free on my phone...
3. Only a few years later... want my Spector Q6 (Holoflash Black, never seen another one) and Stingray back .
4.
you wouldn't put a list of your living room contents in your front window would you? whats the difference!
I don't know where you live unless you tell me ?!
5. I've got an Epiphone model and when I got it the setup was awful. The 3 point bridge was high, neck too bowed and pickups too high as well. After a few weeks of tweaking - the bridge is now as low as possible (won't screw in anymore) and the truss rod has been adjusted. Action now is perfect and the sound out of it is totally different to when I got it. I definitely want to try out a Gibson version.
6.
I've always done that, i thought it was the rules.
I present to you, the rules (at top of all For Sale forums). http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=SR&f=19
7.
If space is an issue it's the Mods problem not ours!
I think there is some confusion here. We do not delete posts upon request unless a thread has been majorly hijacked by people. One that is several weeks/months old wouldn't be touched. Also, there is no space issue to be worried about. Threads and posts take up miniscule amounts of disk space compared to one image attachment (we have plenty of disk space anyway).
8.
Increasingly sellers are deleting their posts or asking mods to do so at the completion of a deal.
I don't think i've had any of these requests. Even if we did, we would ignore them and simply edit the post to SOLD. I agree that leaving history is beneficial, however we cannot prevent users from editing their posts afterwards to remove 'useful' information.
9. Ibanez EDA905. Wanted one for my 21st (had been playing about 1 year), tried one in a shop and it felt cheap (was £500). The tone was not good (brittle) and I was very deflated... bought a Yamaha RBX instead.
10. I've got shorter hair now...
11.
I love this bass so much, I can understand why so many people sing their praises now.
Now it's all mine, muahahahaha !
12. Agreed on a fair price. A few years ago you'd have been wanting a bit more but Warwicks have awful resale value.
13. New prices are going up (increased costs) and 2nd hand are coming down (lack of demand), can't be good for the market.
14. Not sure how many they expect to sell at that price. I saw some at Birmingham Guitar Show and didn't understand where that price came from at all. The quality looks like it's there but putting out a new model at such a high price seems wrong without having a budget model available too. Ibanez might make some good top end stuff, but I don't think it'll sell at all.
15.
I know theres forum rules about talking about a seller asking price, however I dont care and must say that this is the bargain of the century.
Yeah you're right, but for once the comments are commending the seller !
16. I think prices are poor for 'common' stuff but anything rare or in demand should fare better .
17. Can't wait to try a few at the London Bass Show..
18. Looks good. Nice to see something a little less familiar too !
19. I'm not too bothered, didn't make a special journey, just noticed a shop next door to the Subway (food, not subterranea) i'd emerged from and popped in .
20. Went into a shop today - they only had a Gold Top and red Strat though .
21. I think I need to try one out, they look interesting.
22. 3 out of 4 bands I left never met up again afterwards. Not sure if that's something to be proud of or not !
23. Just wait till he wants to get rid of the drummer .
24. Had it out yet ? When I got my Stingray delivered to work a few years ago I was having a noodle in the office. Couldn't do it where I am now though, a much bigger and stricter place .
