1. How old is it ? Remove the stickers, make sure it's clean and tidy and I think £250-300 would be achievable. It's probably worth selling the amp separately, but that I have no idea on value.
2. Actually I think we went for 19/83.
3.
The mods are in on it. Whats the betting they have a 50/50 split deal going on .*
Don't push it. We went for 40/60.
4. That appears to be the case. The delay for the buyer putting up the thread is due to a holiday (as confirmed by seller also).
5.
Fair enough, I was only joshing with you mate!
Who is this josh ? Did he scam someone ?
6.
So much for waiting to hear his side of the story eh
He already posted his side of the story on 23rd March. This can all be resolved by comparing serial numbers. Surely GuitarGuitar can identify if the serial is the one they have sold ?
7. Interesting. Geester's thread appears to be a pre-emptive defense.
8. After receiving several PMs, I have reopened this thread. I politely insist that no-one posts libelous or disparaging comments, please stay to the facts.
9. From Trading Standards:
Faulty goods When you buy goods from a trader, such as a shop, market stall, garage, etc., you enter into a contract that is controlled by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (amended by the Sale & Supply of Goods Act 1994). The law gives you certain statutory rights under this contract. These rights mean that goods should be: Of a Satisfactory Quality, i.e. of a standard that a reasonable person would consider to be satisfactory - generally free from fault or defect, as well as being fit for their usual purpose, of a reasonable appearance and finish, safe and durable; Fit for the purpose - as well as being fit for the purpose for which they are generally sold, goods should also be fit for any specific or particular purpose made known at the time of the agreement; As described - goods should correspond with any description applied to them. This could be verbally, words or pictures on a sign, packaging or an advert. If the goods are not of satisfactory quality, or not fit for their purpose, or not as described, you are entitled to reject the goods and claim a full refund - providing this is done soon after the purchase was made. Once you have "accepted" the goods i.e. kept them for a reasonable amount of time, you are no longer entitled to a refund, but are entitled to damages - the difference in value between the value of the faulty goods and the price paid. In practice this often amounts to having the goods repaired - although strictly there is no legal right to this - or to a replacement - but often a repair or a replacement is an acceptable solution. You are not entitled to a refund if: You have changed your mind about wanting the goods; You were told about the fault before purchasing the item; You examined the goods before purchasing and should have noticed the fault; You have already accepted a credit note; You are responsible for the damage.
More details here: http://www.walsall.gov.uk/index/shopping_rights.htm
10. I don't want this thread to descend into a blamefest, so will lock it and leave it visible for anyone that wishes to read it. A previous thread was removed due to some of the things said in it, but this one is acceptable. If anyone feels it should be left open for discussion please PM me and i'll consider the reasons.
11. I have asked Mark to reply to this publically so we can see both sides of the incident. This is not an exercise to apportion blame, merely establish facts and a best way forward for Truckstop.
12. Hmm nah. I want a Ricky (Fireglo), a Precision and a Stingray. The Overwater is fantastic, but doesn't have the strong tonal characters of the others I want. Realistically, I won't be getting any of them because I won't have significant disposable income this year , Amp wise ? Been happy with the ABM for years...
13.
Machines you were at BassDayUK did you try the Yammy up by where Billy was doing his thing with Clutterbucks feet just showing? Thats the one Im on about seriously you could not of gigged it as it was which is just wrong IMO.
Sheehan there on Sunday right ? I was there Saturday. And do you mean this one ?
14. Not happened to me either. I expect it could happen if there was a sharp section on the saddle or perhaps it was tied around the tuning peg in a peculiar way.
15. I have an RBX775 and have previously had a BB614. They do make very good instruments, the playability and sound is there, but what I struggle to find in them is a little soul. All of their instruments have codenumbers instead of names, this for me can make them a little sterile in character. Of course there's plenty of other manufacturers doing the same thing, but I think Yamaha could do with giving their instruments some more inspiring names to help with the image. It's the same with a lot of Japanese sports bikes/cars... GT-R, 370Z, MX-5, YZF, CBR, GSR etc... all soulless.
16. The seller can act as he wishes in his thread as long as he doesn't break any forum rules, even if it is self-destructive. I'm sure people can read this so far and determine if they wish to liaise with the seller, so no more negative comments please . No minimum post threshold is going to be introduced in the forum, so the 'more experienced' members may have to get used to this fact.
17. I played guitar about 6 months before buying a bass. Had a few guitars and then concentrated on bass. I do play it occasionally to a reasonable standard but don't feel as drawn to it. My Dad is a guitarist and has quite a collection so it'd be rude not to be decent !
18. Hmm, i'm not sure how a shop giving you bad service can possibly reflect on the product itself ? Just get it somewhere else ?

WITHDRAWN

Is it USA made ? I'd hazard a guess at £600 to start off, although to someone it's rarity and condition might add more value.
20. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away... Basschat was started from the dying embers of a defunct Bassworld website. The forum software there was out-of-date (lots of corruptions and outages) and the then owner refused to upgrade it (through absence/apathy). In early 2007, Crazykiwi and ped decided to jump ship and start up a 2nd site with better software and support, pretty much all users followed us over. Initially the user database was migrated over until the original owner complained, no big deal to start again though. I was a moderator on the old site but don't remember it that well ! It was a funny colour though and I think it had a Warwick at the top. There's a lot of people on here from back then but I remember when there was less than 1000 members on here... how times change ! Decisions on site rules/strategies are made by a panel of moderators and admins, suggestions are debated and voted upon. Donations are to cover hosting/bandwidth overheads only, this is also aided by the Google ads. However, we as admins/mods don't get paid and ped (as the current owner) also does not dib into the kitty except when he needs some new high heels.
21. I've only had positive experiences. They have however always been with well established members..
22. Moved to For Sale Forum.
23. I pulled mine, maybe we can persuade this chap to keep his too .
24. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=82230 Knock yourself out .
25. Thanks for the suggestion, however i'm not sure that there is enough of a problem to warrant this solution. Also, we are currently planning an upgrade to the forum software which would be a higher priority than this .
