1. I'm gonna +1 on all the Chris Wotsit Status remarks. I thought the bass sounded poor, the slap sound was terrible and that Hysteria bass line lacked any kind of balls. Roll on Stevie Wonder, looking forward to some tasty bass lines.
2. After reading the Mark Saunders interview in BGM last month (or maybe the month before), I wanted to catch part of Florence and the Machines set. Noticed he was playing a Sadowsky and not a Lakland, which he had been photographed for the magazine with. I'm not too in to her voice but quite enjoyed what I saw.
3. The last one of these I saw on ebay sold for just over £600.
4. Nice one, thanks for that. I had the old MXR pedal a while back which I sold because I wan't usng it, sods law I'd need one again so I got an EHX octave multiplexer because it was cheep. It takes up a lot of real estate on a PTJR though so I'm going to try a few more out. Not sure if I want computerised glitchy octave or organic octave. Time to search the effects forum.
5. Shep, why did you switch from the EBS octabass to the MXR BOD? Was it just personal preference?
6. I wouldn't run out to get one either but a good practice/small gig amp.
7. I think they've got one of these (or something similar) in Brighton Electric. I haven't been there for ages but remember preferring it to all the other bass amps they had.
8. Doing a dep in July so have about 40 songs to learn. I got 26 years without having to learning Mustang Sally, suppose I had a good innings.
9. To be honest dude, you've got so much quality kit I don't see how you can be GASing for anything else. As for getting another rig, that's just madness. Look at what you've got; 3 amazing amps, an army of cabs, and more basses then you can shake a stick at. Any one of us on here would be happy to gig with what you've got (except Siddlx, he'd need one of those POD things). So yeah, take the time to enjoy what you've got and not thinking about what you could have. EDIT: I really should check spelling before posting.
10. I have one of these and they're great pedals. Retain the low end fantastically well. For anyone looking at buying an EHX muff or a Way Huge Swollen pickle but want something with a smaller foot print (and more versatile then the EHX) then look no further.
Mesa Boogie Bass 400+ for me all the way as it was clean, flexible and very powerful.
This is why I have a 400+. If I wanted a grittier sound I would be getting an Orange.
12.
I am the last person that wants to comments other people work but I am genuinely curious about it. Just to be sure I understand... ~£300 for this?
Don't be silly, what's that 20 - 30 quids worth? The rest is on the paint job, obviously. I can't really talk though, I'm guilty of spending silly money on a pedal.
13.
I love it, I only got it yesterday, but it's definitely staying on the board for a while! It's definitely tubescreamer like, but it's much less compressed and has more gain. I think the presence control is what makes it so good, it makes the pedal a lot more versatile.
I'm guessing your Hotcake has has the internal normal/bluesberry switch and a guitar/bass switch?
14.
But, I definitely want a Custom Shop Fender in my life....
+1 on this, I'd love a CS Fender. It'd be a jazz, but that's as far as I've got with deciding on spec.

16. It kind of annoys me how effortless they make it look.
17. I went from a 410 to a 212. I'm back with a 410 now and much happier. Try 12s in the shop, see how you get on.
18.
I was listening to this as well today, it's a quality album, I've never heard of the two bassists but the main one is Eric Appapoulay and Jodi Milliner on track two... Both are very groovy fellas. Eric is one of the producers on the record...
Good detective skills Urb.
19.
Hmmmm Stu Hamm, Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Alain Caron, Marcus Miller, Adam Nitti, Jeff Schmidt, Jonas Helborg, Micheal Manring etc.. of course THEY don't widdle on bass
Top Tip: You should never widdle on your bass, save that for the toilet.
20. Totally suprised these amps have lasted 4 weeks......
21. I'm going to PM you some details on my Precision.
22. No idea, but one of the bands I'm in does 'She Said', cracking bass line.
23.
Go on - you know you want to really
I'm about 20 mins away from Guildford as well, which isn't helping.
