1.
I wish I could pick this up would be great in any biamping rig or just jamming with friends
My guitarist biamps using a tiny terror and a JCM 800. They complement each other really well.
2. Jazz body, Precision neck and pickups I believe.
3. So yesterday was 'new amp day' for me. I've already posted this in a couple of other places but for completeness it's going in my own thread as well. So so so happy with this.
4. I caved yesterday and bought something I've always wanted... A Mesa / Boogie 400+ ...I've wanted one since I was in school. I've been playing through it for much of the evening and I'm beaming. I picked up the Berg HS410 a couple of weeks ago, too happy right now. Right, where's that Bergantino thread?
5.
Awesome because a full revalve is around £300 for them but should last a good 5-10 years depending on what went into it.
I had a feeling a re-valve was around that. It's what swayed me. I didn't want to take a punt on one on ebay then find out I needed to fork out on valves. Happy days, should arrive tomorrow.
6.
Insanely it was like £1899 but you can only get them second hand now and should be £700-£1000 depending on condition and age of tubes. (That 700 would be for one that needs a full revalve personally )
Cool, I've just bitten the bullet and bought one. I paid a little over your estimate but it had just been serviced, full re-valve and new caps. I bought it from a reputable guitar shop so it has a 6 month warranty as well.
7. I bought a Specialized S-Works Tarmac carbon bike frame and had it insured delivered through PF. Needless to say the box was mangled when it arrived my end and the frame had cracked. The seller made a claim, which was rejected. He challenged and we were refunded. Good info Silddx
8. With a few people recommending the Mesa Boogie 400+; does anyone know what the new price for one was?
9. Happy days. Beedster, if you don't want the gig bag, I know someone who'll take it...
10.
How has it not sold
Who knows, but I'll take the gig bag if your will to sell it separately, Pete?
11. Silddix re-sprayed his Warwick. That thread may be of some use.
12. Blimey, someone likes Stingrays... Are they all 3 band or is there a 2 band lurking at the back?
13.
thx Chris, can't see it on the website unfortunately (search function doesn't come up with anything for 'wind tasting') would you happen to know if DR strings (of which there are a bewildering variety) are more along the lines of what I am after?
I've found DR rounds are smoother then Elites. Not sure how they compare to slinkys though
14. In the past I've cut two thin strips of Velcro and stuck them to the rubber on the longest edges so as not to damage the label. You don't need much of the heavy duty stuff to stick them down.
15. From what I've had in the past the T-rex Bass Juice is very smooth and creamy, it has a mix knob so you can blend the distorted and clean signal and it worked well with my Stingray. The Fulltone Bass Drive is another good one, I miss having one, may have to buy another. Lots of options.
16. Homebase will do heavy duty Velcro, if you haven't been already.
17.
The Precision with flats/rounds is down to personal preference & how you want to sit in the mix, really. I downloaded the live John Mayer Trio album the other day (with Pino on bass) & his Precision on flats sounds great on the busier tracks, but on the slow blues numbers, it's too flat and dead sounding for my tastes. I have my AV 62 on DR FatBeams. Lovely sound.
I really like that John Mayer album. My '78 P is on Sunbeams. Also very nice.
18. I think tonally yes, but it's totally down to players preference. I've had flats on my Precision in the past. I currently have rounds on it. Still can't make my mind up as to which I prefer.
19. These are fantastic basses, if I had a reason to get a second......
20.
The 50's reissue P is now on hold for me! God that feels good!
Good job, and happy 18th!
21. Check out the '75 RI Jap Jazz Tredders is selling. Lovely
22. I'd be looking at a Jap or Mex Fender as well.
23.
we're both on the same wave lenght! lol ...yeah i want to change to a 4x10 from 2 12's. did you try out the 4x10 mesa? how was the mesa???
I didn't try the Mesa, I wanted a 4ohm cab and the Mesa was 8ohm. I would have liked to but there were a couple of other guys waiting and after playing through the Berg it was game over.
24.
Was that the Bass Direct effect? I went in there on Friday to buy an AE410. I refused to pick up a Roscoe, just in case I couldn't put it down, but I very, very nearly walked out with an MTD635!! That place is not good for you!
Was indeed. Mark knew what I wanted before I did.
