  1. Here's one I put together last week from phone footage. The track already existed, of course.
  2. Just for fun, I put rounds on my LPB P yesterday (yes, that's how bored I am). It sounded nice...
  3. Here's #3...
  4. Very nice! If you can forgive me for a nit-pick, I think he hits the A more often than the C# on the verse 🙂
  5. Cheers, Al. The song was recorded just before the restrictions came in. The drums were done at the drummer's house, the bass in my house (Handbox R-400 DI > cheap little Focusrite > Adobe Audition), and we sent the files to the guitarist. He just has a protools set up in a small room in his house, which is where we also did all the vocals, violin & accordion. I don't think he has any clever outboard stuff, just a few nice mics and a good ear. The video was necessitated by the restrictions - I put it together from mobile phone selfie vids, as you've probably guessed. In't technology marvellous?
  6. 01 Ever played a gig sitting down? Loads of times. 02 Ever gigged on a different instrument? Nope. I played a mandolin on one song once, but I was crap. 03 Ever shared a stage with a musical hero of yours? Yes, a couple of times. 04 Any fan ever had a tatoo of your band's logo? They're probably all a bit old for tattoos. 05 Ever signed an autograph in a dressing room? Yes. 06 Ever cried on stage? Yes. 07 Ever worn a hat on stage? Yes. Dunno why. 08 Ever gigged with a band you hadn't met before the gig? Yes. 09 Ever been in a relationship with a fellow band member? Yes. 10 Ever played in different bands on the same day? Yes - three. 11 Ever had anything thrown at you while playing? No. 12 Ever crashed on the way to the gig? Umm... the van rolled into a river on the way home from a gig. Does that count? 13 Ever left a band over the choice of set list? Yes. 14 Ever slept in the venue despite it not being a hotel? No. 15 Ever been supported by a band clearly better than you? God, loads of times. 16 Ever played a gig suffering from some debilitating medical condition? Yes. I vomited on a couple in the front row once. I'm not proud. 17 Ever been in a band where the guitarist was your favourite bandmate? Yes. 18 Ever played in the grounds of a stately home? Yes. 19 Ever injured yourself on stage? Kind-of. I fell off the stage at my first ever gig. 20 Ever been told that your bass isn't loud enough? Yes. I nearly cried with happiness.
  7. The UK's at a standstill, too, as is most of the world. Stay safe.
  8. Here's the lockdown-friendly video for the new single of a band wot I'm in. I pulled my ol' 71 fretless Precision out for this one.
  9. I've noticed that too. It must be the way it's recorded...?
  10. Was your post just a general public service announcement, or was it a specific response to the OP?
  11. Grateful I saw him in Manchester recently for the first, and sadly last, time. Lake Marie, man. What songs.
  12. To be fair, the OP dates from November.

    In Memoriam

Sorry to report that Denny Mochan, a well-known bass brother in Tyneside, and occasional BC contributor (DieselCowboy) passed away at the weekend. RIP, Denny.
  14. ^^ Yep, same for me. I have to unplug them when recording. (it's not an issue with Class D heads, just tube and A/B)
  15. Here's Jacka on Maggie May...
  16. Re: the Lennon tune in the OP, maybe McCartney slipped Klaus Voorman a tenner to make a mess of it in revenge for Lennon doing the same on this...
  17. Here's a clip of humble attempt from a couple of months back, playing it with Mr. Nail and Christopher Fairbank (Y'know, him off Guardians of the Galaxy). I got away with it, but having Guy's video to refer to beforehand would have saved me a lot of heartache. ha ha.
  18. Adrian'll do it for you. Drop him a mail.
  19. Tony Levin trivia? I once saw him sitting on a park bench in Whitley Bay, feeding chips to seagulls whilst singing Calendar Girl in a Jamaican accent. He was wearing one of those ties with a piano keyboard design on it.
  20. Heh. Everything about dots, binding and matching headstock screams 'Ovals!' IMO, obv. 🙂
  21. That's exactly right. You can now press the buy button 🙂
  22. That is beautiful but it needs oval tuners, my good man.
  23. Thank you - that's very comprehensive. I'm rarely (never?) in situations where I needs to improvise over tricky progressions, so I'm probably just not the target audience.
