  1. On the weight?
  2. YouTube - or more specifically publishers - have been clamping down for ages.
  3. It's important to differentiate between ash and swamp ash. One is significantly heavier than the other, so think of them as different woods.
  4. I've seen a lot of chat about this over the last few days, but from what I can see it's limited to sharing recordings of music that you don't own. I think live performance / covers will be fine.
  5. I'm late to the party at this one. Interesting as always. Couldn't help but chuckle when he talked about adding an effect for the verse. You don't need an effect for that, mate.
  6. i.e. someone is being paid about a grand per instrument just to QC it 😄
  7. Honestly? I can't be arsed to read it 😄

  9. Just looking at the nice-looking blue PJ Metroline on there. I have a feeling it has Licensed Hipshots, rather than USA. If I'm right... scrimping on a £2200 bass? Dear me.
  10. That was my thought when I started this thread: ...but I'm tempted to merge it with this one.
  11. 100%.
  12. Personally I find it a little depressing at the moment, but it's cyclical.
  13. Maybe, maybe not. The thread is called 'When will you start gigging again?' Bluewine has answered that pretty explicitly. You're free to scroll on by...
  14. ...which welcomes anyone from anywhere.
  15. And the beauty of it all is that he probably didn't think about any of it. He just did it 'cos it felt right.
  16. I'm sure they'd oblige if you ask them.
  17. There's something about the back of a 70s Fender headstock with the stamped tuners... yum.
  18. My P was just into four figures, but it has Gotoh Res-o-Lites.
  19. Understood. Keen to hear how it works out for you...
  20. I spent years on A/B, then I was an early class D adopter (back in the early 2000's). At first I thought they were great (so light!), and then fell out of love with one amp, then bought another, then another, yadda yadda. Different pre-amp, then another, etc. Then I began to notice that the hired-in / venue provided old-school A/B / Valve amps instantly sounded much better than whatever new-fangled car radio amp I had. Bought a Walkabout... sorted. A new class D came out that promised to be a new dawn in class D tone. So I sold the Walkabout and chased my tail for a while again. Realised I wasn't getting anywhere, bought another Walkabout. Found the HandBox R-400. Even better than the Walkabout. Tried the WB-100. OMG. But at the moment it's a luxury for me, so the R-400 does me just fine (and has for a number of years now). As soon as the gigs justify it, I'll get the WB-100. (Note: this was my journey. Yours may well vary.)
  21. Apologies - I'm not sure what your point is...?
  22. No sentimentality in my instance.
  23. "And if California slides into the ocean Like the mystics and statistics say it will I predict this motel will be standing Until I pay my bill..."
