1. Any excuse to post this... From a gig I did in February with a few people, including some you might recognise. Oh, and an orchestra.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Ys3SBl17g
2. This seems like a good time to post this........
3.
Paypal's phone system is an Esheresque, labyrinthine nightmare, but, once you do get through to someone they are very helpful
...unless you want to complain.
4. 'The Best of the Beatles' is my favourite.
5. I'm starting to notice now. I must be at 'that' age...!
6. Hopefully this gives a bit of insight into why BC should pull the shutters down on him and his company and walk away.
7. Cheers, all! Here's another vid - almost a complete song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySSGBQfCvWo
8. ...and here we go! I'm really happy with it. The mix is great. Well, maybe bit more bass... If anyone wants to post it anywhere, please do, but can I ask that you post this link instead:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Ys3SBl17g#t=259
This is the one the PR people want us to use. Thank you!
9. Update: I've just seen a bit of the footage from the DVD. It looks (and sounds) awesome. It's the press launch on Tuesday - once that's over, I'll post it here.

11. What other kind of strings are there...?
12. I couldn't handle being with someone who resents my hobby. Life's to short to spend it watching Britain's got talent on the settee every Saturday night with a takeaway. Bugger that.
13. PM Howard - 'The Bass Doc' on here.
14.
I don't know why folk don't just stick one or two photos up and then a link to an album - like this one I made before I gave up trying to sell it... 15. BASECHAT IS RUBBESH THESE DAYS. HARDLEY NE1 POST NE MORE.
16.
I think the producers need to try and go a little more mainstream as it's often hard to find anyone with a positive comment about the show. Very BBC in this regard, no advertisers to answer too (they don't listen to license fee payers).
I disagree - BBC peak-time has this covered, along with seventeen million commercial radio and TV channels. I'm glad a teeny-tiny part of the license fee is going towards challenging people...
17.
That's part of the problem with Rush now, it's so 'big' a show that they probably can't get their heads round the concept of popping in a studio with minimal kit and knocking some songs out. It would have to be the full on entourage taking over massive amounts of space, BBC studio probably couldn't handle it.
it would do them no harm to be reminded of what's at the core of their existence...
18. I;m in the bulk of my bands with one of my best and oldest pals, and my wife. And virtually all of my other band-mates - actually, all of 'em - are great people. So... yes,
19.
As a fender fan boy and avowed hater of coffee table fancy wooden tops I should hate this bass. But I don't. I really think its a great looking piece. On sale at BassDirect for £1500 if anyone's interested (its a Warwick Thumb 'Dirty Blonde' - perhaps the name is what's hooking me!) Not buying it but thought I'd post up in case anyone else fancies a pop
You're not Clarky. Where is he?? What have you done with him??
20. Hi all After four years' loyal service from my Berg HS210s, itchy feet have got the better of me and I've worked out a deal with a fellow BCer to trade 'em for the 12" stack. I'm not sure why, exactly... they're Bergs, so they're going to be great. Just a different flavour of great. My only reservation is whether my Walkabout will give a single cab sufficent juice on smaller gigs. Most of my bands aren't loud, so I'm sure it'll be fine. Yum...
21.
I thought Alex's guitar sound was actually much better than it has been for ages the other night. Looking at his gear list for this tour he's not using as much Hughes & Kettner gear & is also using the Fractal audio effects stuff which seems to have improved things considerably IMO.
Really? Good. Are you listening, Geddy?
22.
I think that has more to do with Geddys bass sound being a horrible distorted mushy fart than anything else. If a sound guy is given a sh*t sound to start with there's not much he can do with it to be fair.
+1. I don't know what Geddy is thinking of these days. or Alex, for that matter. Mush.
23.
A picture like this shows me what your bass looks like:
So... this particular bass is grainy and indistinct, then?
24. Whoops... Could a mod do the honours, please?
