1. They look unfinished IMO. It needs something on there...
2.
Speechless
My God!
3. Here' a few more Americana concept albums... Desperado - Eagles Chavez Ravine - Ry Cooder (lots of Ry Cooder stuff is, actually) Jesse James & White Mansions - Paul Kennerley All great albums, IMO.
4. Here's some audio of it in action from a gig last weekend. It's a few snippets of tunes showing the range of tones you can get from those lovely pickups... the currency conversion is creeping out of our favour too, so this is an even better saving on new :-)
5.
Around ten years ago I had a custom bass made by Sandberg for around the same price of a Maruszczyk today. Sandberg then expanded and their prices are now over double for the same custom bass. I'm hoping Adrian does not get to popular and goes the same way as so many small bass companies. They expand, move to bigger factories, employ more people and prices go through the roof. Keep it real Adrian and you will have a loyal fan bass.
As long as they don't rise until after I sell my Oly Jake and get my new order in..!
6.
Thought I would write a little piece on Maruszczyk amps. https://www.youtube....h?v=rWS0Y3sPg2U The link shows a quick video of the features of this two channel amp in its combo form but you will get the idea of the features. I've been using Adrian's basses for a few years now and haven't really found an amp that I like. They are either to dirty and rough or detailed and sterile. Having recently sold my Tone hammer 350 after using a Taurus amp I thought I would give the Bass Tank a try. Even though it has two channels I will only use the Electric input as I don't play acoustic bass... yet. Currently I'm using it with a sh*tty Maplin speaker for home rehearsals and whatever the studio / rehearsal room has when I'm out of the house. It's an amazing amp with very flexible EQ ( I don't really use much ) and has a warm but detailed sound that I'm really liking. Adrian does not give any specs on his web site for the EQ points. At first this worried me but I soon just dialed in what I found pleasing to the ear and it was really that simple. I stopped worrying whether I needed a 200 hz cut or boost or will the 1khz range be to cutting. I just twiddled with my knobs ( oh ). They are very subtle and musical sounding. Can't even tell you if its class B or a Class D amp or whether it has a linear or switch mode power supply. Can tell you its 7kg and 400 watts into 4ohms..... Now I would love to get my hands on one of his speaker cabs.
Yeah - really like the look of these.
7. I suppose as well as the obvious, you should include one of the first - Frank Sinatra's 'In the Wee Small Hours'.
8. I love these cabs. GLWTS.
9. I'm the opposite. I like 'em with a bit of height so I can turn down...
10. 'Feel the beat' I tried, but there wasn't one.
11. If you're finding it difficult, maybe you're just at that age. As the saying goes: you can't teach an old dog neutriks. a ha ha ha I'm here all week, folks.
12.
Interesting... Any more info about them...?
Nah, nothing. If they're built for stock rather than to order, I imagine they'll appear on the website at some point.
13.
Oh dear, I appear to have killed the thread. Best try to revive it with some pics. Afraid I can't compete on the sofa front though. And while I'm here, does anyone know what gauge allen key you need to adjust the bridge? My smallest is too small and the next one up too big in both metric and imperial.
There should be a little bag of tools in the gig bag..?
14. Hello! I hope you don't mind a righty like me dropping by, but Maruszczyk have just posted a batch of lefties on their FB page...
15.
They've admitted they have lost it and claim full responsibility. Sellers beware, this is shocking.
That's bad news - sorry to hear it. Although IMO it's not shocking. Shocking would be if they didn't admit it, and didn't claim responsibility.
16. When I told Adrian I wanted something classically vintage for my Jake, he recommended the Haussels. And by golly, he was right. Mind, that's a P/J, not a J.
17. Bumpity bumpity bumpity bumpity bumpity bumpity bump-bump bump!
18.
This. they're just the latest flavour of the month on here. 12 months time the marketplace will be full of them while people all rush to get the next best thing ever.
It'll have to be something cheaper and better quality than a Maruszczyk. I'm not holding my breath, but you never know.
19. The Haussel's are SWEET.

21. I always found the Streamliner (and the TC, and a few similar heads before it) would get lost in the mix too easily, and I'd find myself nudging the volume up on an effort to get some tactile response from it. After a certain volume, when the magic electronic power management kicket in, it would go flubby and lose its shape. Whenever I went back to my Walkabout, AG500 or more trad amp, I'd find I'd have a more authoritative 'present' tone at a much lower volume. It just had more about it. All IME, obviously.
22. The D'addario gang turned up at the North East Bass Bash this weekend, and I was very kindly offered a set of these to try. Cheers, folks! I'll string up my Oly Maruszczyk Jake tomorrow. I usually use the Nickel XLs on my rounds bass - it'll be interesting to see how they compare.
23. I had one of these. Wish I'd kept it.
