1. voxpop was asking for one of these yesterday in items wanted...
2. Heard it on the radio... and it sounded great.
3. Six of one and half a dozen of the other then... just a misunderstanding brought about by a lack of communication. Nevermind...gives us all something to talk about on the internets.
What it is ultimately down to,is lazy sound engineers who can't be bothered with the hassle of a couple of plugs.
Haha! That old chestnut. It must all have been the feckless sound engineers fault.
4. Where are you based?
5. Cardigans - Lovefool
6. Trawling through my local musical instrument listings I came across this... ...State-Of-The-Art Air Guitar. Postage is a bit steep though.
7. Dead Kennedys 'Halloween' gotta be in with a shout. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n2Bnh4T8YE
8. Just a shame these things aren't 20 years old. Then you can add 'vintage' to the description and double your asking price.
9. Nowadays it'd have to be The Rapture, or Modest Mouse... something with a bit of bounce. In a previous life it would be The Meters.
10. That's one lovely looking bass. I'll have a feel down the back of the sofa but I fear I won't find enough change. Good luck with the sale.
11. Traded a bass for an amp with Graham a few weeks ago. Good communication and straight up. Supports the right football team. Nice chap who I'd deal with again anytime.
12. looks lovely...
13. So it's definately the 1/16 allen key I was looking for. Not all allen keys are made equally though. Whilst waiting for a 1/16 key off ebay I saw an imperial set of keys in the local Wilkinsons for 99p. Despite the pack clearly stating a 1/16 key, their one was too small and couldn't get any purchase on the saddle.... 2 days later the ebay one turns up and it's a perfect snug fit.
14. Well... I didn't expect to see this moved on so quickly! It truely is a lovely lil bass in great nick. Someone give it a good home. Good luck with the sale. P.S. Graham's a nice guy to deal with too.
15. The closest picture I can get to a lovely early 70's Jazz I foolishly sold and someday hope to replace...
16. Has anyone got a picture of him using this thing? When I hear optigrab I can't help thinking of The Jerk...
17. Owzat? Bad quality snap hot off the camera phone...
18. Now traded...
I just find it strange that I sell it to a guy in london and it ends up near liverpool....
...gone to a new home in the west country.
19. I've just bought a 1/16 imperial allen key on ebay for 99p. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
20.
I used to have the 4 string..... wait a moment that is my old bass! That was my first ever bass! Lovely creamy warm tone. Almost tempted to check the bank account... If you have any questions about it's history shambo just ask!
Thanks silverfoxnik & Luke. 'Tis a nice one but needs must as the devil drives. Now on hold pending possible trade.
21. Sorry to drag up an old topic but did anyone get an answer to this? I want to higher the action on my S1 Jazz and the size allen key needed, (in metric), isn't readily available information.
22. Thanks pantherairsoft. If nobody wants it, it'll be no great hardship to keep.
23. Seems people have asked, although I'd rather trade, I'll accept £300 ono collected.
24. Status Shark Pro Active (circa 1997). 4 string. Alder body. 24 frets. 34" scale. Reinforced with graphite rods. 15mm string spacing at 12th. Active dual Status 'Hyperactive' pups. New Hixcox case. Bit reluctant to let this go as it's not your common garden Shark which only had one passive pickup, this one's a bit rarer, but... I recently re-aquired an MIA Jazz which is the instrument I learned to play on many moons ago. It's like meeting up with an old friend and my chances of actually hitting the note I wanted to, on it's neck, have improved tremendously. I did however make the schoolboy error of splashing all my cash on the guitar and not on any decent amplification so that's what I'm looking for trades wise... a decent amp or cab or combo around 300w. I never really noticed any problems with my Laney practice amp and the Status because the active circut cleaned it up for me. With the Jazz it sounds like the death rattle of a man with terminal flatulence. This Status has a wide neck but I'll miss it's thinness which makes it incredibly fast and lithe. It has a throaty growl with both pup's on full. Structurally the bass is very sound, seems built like a tank, and the neck is straight and true, (I heard a rumour that Rob Green took a special interest in this instrument). It has quite a small body and a smaller headstock so seems light and balanced. Cosmetically it's very good too, I'd give it 8 out of 10. There's a couple of scratches either side of the body, (which I've tried to photograph), a ding above the 12th fret which can't be felt when playing, (see photo), and a bit of the chrome has come off the bridge. All housed in a nice new lockable Hixcox case. Apologies for the grainy phone camera pictures... Chrome wear on bridge... Difficult to describe how thin the neck is... and perfectly flat! all nice and tidy... scratched on side... and a lil one on the other... ding above the 12th fret... in a nice new hardcase... One drawback is that I don't drive so you'll have to be local or not mind a journey to complete the trade. I'm based in a happy place called New Brighton, which is on the Wirral, not far from Liverpool... about 5 mins from the end of the M53. I'm happy if somebody want's to come try it out first and will suppy hot and cold running tea/coffee. Thanks for looking.
25. I likes that! Sadly I'm not a lefty tho...
