1. congrats, looks real nice. are you going to play it out or baby it at home?
2. It's been 2 weeks since this sold for £825.70 and still no feedback, positive or negative, has been left... hmmmm.
3. I've noticed the Purple Chili website has removed the prices for their neo cabs, "Due to huge price rises in Neodymium".
4.
+2 again
+3 I like 'em too.
5. My preference would have to be: 1) bass guitar 2) bass guitar 3) triangle and so I have now decided to call myself a multi instrumentalist. In all seriousness I have never played or wanted to strum a single chord on guitar. Not proud of that or anything, just the feel of the little fiddly strings makes my toes curl, sometimes shrieking like a schoolgirl being introduced to a particularly large and hairy spider, and I have to give it immediately back to it's owner... perhaps it's a phobia? I can appreciate them aesthetically and I dig a good rhythm guitar player but guitar solos leave me stone cold.
6. oh wow.... it's certainly erm... very erm... green.
7.
Unless you are on Ebay who seem to rule in favour of the seller in the majority of cases regardless
Not sure if that's the case but that's ebay/paypal rules though. Nothing to do with any selling regulations. Everyone who buys from a private individual on this site must know about caveat emptor, if only for their own sake. Back on topic, I've had nothing but pleasant transactions on this site, buying, selling and trading.
8.
Distance selling rules apply here just the same as they would if they bought the item from Dolphin or whatever.
Surely that's not true?
9. If you'd like a Warwick, why not try a second hand 'Rockbass' of some variety. Try 'em out in a shop and then go hunting for a used one. The couple I've tried seemed quite light and decent value for money. Although the way Warwick prices are heading ATM, if you save your pennies, you might be able to pick up a posher model quicker than you think.
10. That looks lovely and if I had five hundred quids, I'd give them to you.
11. Their reply: "Hi there please check out item number 140525314096 this is also a vintage fender and has the same truss rod etc also serial number is correct for a fender made in the seventies also check other pictures on the net some necks don't have the skunk stripe and as for the lack of yellowing it has simply not been used much and is in super condition this is the genuine article" - collystar That other listing is the sunburst 77 P that iconic has asked opinions about today, the one that looks real and well... different from his. I don't really know where to go with this. I don't want a row with him about it and I'm not reporting it to ebay because it's not my concern.
12. Having pointed out a blatant one recently, I'm in two minds about it. Part of me is sad that someone is gonna get ripped off but another part thinks, if you're in the market for an old Fender, you're a fool for not doing your homework and are traditionally parted from your money at some point.
13. Well... he's replied to my message and is insistent that, "this is the genuine article". Bidding now upto £324.
14. I've just sent them a message. Hope they take it in the right way.
15. Didn't think so. The colour of the neck is what I first noticed, it's far too white and new. Then other parts started to look shonky... headstock decal too close to the edge, no skunk stripe, no plug on the headstock at the end of the trussrod. Just the overall new apperarance. Thanks guys. I'm getting good at this. *smug*
16. Don't know what it is with all the P bass suspicion at the moment but this one's got me wondering. Could I have some opinions please? Fender

Putting aside the emotive issue of where the instrument was built and variations in QC, Fender is the worlds most famous marque in guitar and bass manifacturing so they can charge a premium for their instruments safe in the knowledge that demand for their product will always remain relatively stable. This same demand is also reflected in the resale value of second hand instruments as buyers know that their purchase isn't about to significantly drop in value should they wish to move the instrument on, regardless of the specific instruments quality.

Jazz
My 1975 (not RI)
I absolutely love that. Here's my 2006/7 MIA in shoreline gold.
19. My money's on the Demeter Compulator for its ease of use versus quality of results. Only drawback being it picks up interference from my cheap power supply, (including a tuner, that's my only 2 pedals and I don't want to spend a fortune on a posh power brick thing), so I have to run it from a 9v battery.
20. Welcome fellow wirralalien.
21. Black on black and rosewood is very aggressive looking... me likey.
22. Hello and welcome. Stay away from the for sale section if you don't want to upset the missus.
23. Oooo I've just bought a lottery ticket or failing that I could sell a kidney.
24. Don't panic and remember to enjoy yourself.
25. For a few weeks and only out of necessity, I had a mid 70's neck pup and the modern stock bridge pup in my 06/07 american standard jazz. They sounded bloody awful together.... never expected it to work and it didn't. The older pup overwhelmed the newer one being much louder and darker. The newer pup had more high end sparkle giving it a bigger overall tone, but alot less grunt. My jazz now wears wizard 84's which I think sound closer to the older pups than the new.
