1.
Beautiful bassline well played. Nice one!
It's such a good bassline. I don't think I'll ever tire of it. Thanks btw!
 2. New video up on my YouTube channel.
 3. My first one of those playalong bass cover things, complete with bass face:
 4.
How did you do that remix? like, what program did you use?
As far as I can recall it was all done in Logic Pro.
 5. Thanks a lot for making this available! Now I'll be practicing that muted double pop thing all night, when really I should be learning tunes. BTW the link to page 2 in the contents section is the same as page 1.
 6.
750 views and not a single reply bump.
I'm replying! Not because I want to buy it I'm afraid. Good luck with the sale though!
 7.
Moon was a vastly overated drummer. He is one of those guys who got better after he died.

True, they're not the band they once were - but they haven't been for 32 years.
Both very well made points. I think I can safely say we've all learned something today kids.
 8.
That's Dave Marks, bass genius! www.davemarks.com. Contributor to BGM, and also on here. Or it's Wolverine, one or the other...
Dohh, of course! I knew that name sounded familiar - I visited his website (via a link from here) today. Ta!
 9.
Wow! Who'd have guessed Wolverine was Irish and could play bass...?
Haha. I don't know who he is, but those are some tasty reggae lines.
 10. I'm starting to fully appreciate the genius of Edwards/Rogers. Starting with the Best of Chic. BTW that totally sounds like Bernard.
 11.
Rule 3 - ignore them, for them it's all part of being American and twelve. Jon.

It's not just the Americans...
True, it isn't informed by age, nationality or (in the case of musicians) ability. But because of the anonymous nature of the internet, these morons use the little comment box to throw harsh criticisms, most of which are unjustified, at other people's efforts. In doing so they appear to be claiming 'I can do it so much better', but in the majority of cases they have no evidence to support this. Would they belittle the same person if they met in person? Of course not. It's the same for people arguing on messageboards, beautifully highlighted by this xkcd comic: Oh yeah, and in closing: UR ALL FAGS LOLOOLOOLOL
 12. Rule #1 of YouTube: Don't read YouTube comments.
 13. Eh, I reckon the headstock looks better in context with the whole instrument. Probably not the most flattering angle, but I suppose they want to show off how unique it is. Anyway, generally speaking I think this looks alright! Can't go wrong with aged white and tortoiseshell.
 14. Another possible avenue you could try - installing a MIDI pickup? You'd be able to achieve a massive array of sounds that way. Perhaps not viable, but I thought I'd put it out there. If it were down to a pedal, I'd probably go for that Akai Unibass, having watched that clip. Cool stuff.
 15. I love the look of this. I'm not looking to buy, but just for the sake of curiosity, how much does it weigh?
 16.
I don't see them as tired or drunk...where do you get that ? The same attitude in the comments as with McCartney for instance : just some undefined criticism and vague references to age as the only solid reason. These "old" people certainly made my life more pleasant and still do. Luckily they won't care less of what people think...
I suppose my comments were a bit harsh - I was in a harsh mood this morning. All credit to them for still doing what they're doing at their age, regardless of the actual outcome. </backpedalling>
 17.
I just knocked this up on Sibelius - it's just about there, what do you think? -
112.000061 BPM? Thanks anyway - that'll help with my sight reading practice.
 18. Another contender for the synthesized sound would be the Electro-Harmonix Bass Synthesizer. It's a bit unhinged at times, and can only really be used sparingly, but it's worth a try.
 19. Seems like Pino and Zak can do really good impressions of John and Keith, respectively. Unfortunately, all Roger and Pete can manage is an impression of two tired, drunk old men.
 20.
And what is Corinne Bailey Rae's player playing on the Alan Carr show last night? (34.30s in!) Looks like an Ibanez Blazer! Is he a member on here!
Don't know if he's a member on here, but I know his name's Kenny something... Leeds based guy. EDIT: Ah yes, it's Kenny Higgins.
 21.
Hadrien Feraud.

Matt Garrison,Dominique Di Piazza,Janek Gwizdala....... There's nothing wrong with using that technique-just make sure you can use it whether you are playing on one string or crossing strings.
Add Pino Palladino to that list too. Over the last year or so I've been trying that technique, muting the strings in various degrees with my palm. It's good fun and sounds great in the right context, but it's definitely worth learning the more traditional two finger technique for most other situations.
 22. Although I'm too late (and completely devoid of cash), I just have to say how beautiful that looks. Also, what the hell is the last photo about?
 23.
Study bass is a good site. http://www.studybass.com/
I just had a quick go at the bass clef quiz. I like the ranking system.
 24.
....I can finger play it but slapping, forget it, it's too quick for me on the f#/g# D string bit!
I was convinced that bit was a hammer-on when I heard it on the original. I've just about got the hang of slapping the entire thing, but it took a fair bit of practice!
 25.
The last time I posted this photo, another Basschatter made some comments that made it obvious he knew this stuff well (and assumed that I did too!). Apparently they're a Japanese "extreme hi-fi" outfit and that photo was taken at some sort of music exhibition. Every time I look at it, I end up thinking of Back To The Future ...
Exactly what I thought too.
