  1. As I fall into both these categories, I completely concur with your statement 😊
  2. Then go and try it. What's to lose. I drive 1 1/2 hours to work everyday.
  3. Thormann add the top of the page, and isn't effecting the screen. Thanks for sorting Kiwi ❤️
  4. Sky Arts, 21.00 Bagpipes :A celebration. One to miss I think. 👉😬👈
  5. Had an interesting experience with my inears at Saturdays gig. Sound checked, all fine, as normal. 1st set, sounded great and really happy. Few adjustments on the pad to my aux send (using Soundcraft ui24 system). Great 1st set. Start of 2nd set. Quick check, make sure it's working. Hmm, sounds a bit less bassy than it did. Checked the volume pedal. Ok. Checked the plugs. Ok. Checked the jack wasn't 1/2 out. Nope. Ah, maybe the FoH isn't up yet. That'll be it. Start the set. Better, but still not as before. A bit treblely than before too. And more ambient. Ah well, carry on. Gig went very well, and at the end took off my iem's and turned to pick up my hearing aids and couldn't find the dammed things. Had they dropped on the floor? Nope, I'd left the stupid things in my ears and put the iam's in as well! Dooh!
  6. I've found that if I get a 'long ad', refreshing the page until the Rotosound ad comes back helps
  7. Back to normal with Rotosound ad now
  8. @mep Yes, glad it's not just me. I'm having the same issue on my phone browser page. It's throwing the menu off screen to the right. It's very annoying.
  9. Agree with you there. It's sometimes week before others have learnt their parts. It's very frustrating when I take the week to learn the bass part and they havnt even bothered to listen to it. Especially frustrating if it's a song they've suggested.
  10. After an expensive year last year, this year has been quiet on the purchasing front. But last week I bought the Boss GT-B1. First gig with it tonight and I'm really happy with it. I've programmed 6 different patches to match different tracks and they all sounded great. We're silent stage/IEM, so direct into the desk. Plus it fits into the front pouch on the gig back, so one less thing to carry.
  11. I play all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order Sorry, someone had to say it
  12. Tonight, 22:15. Super Show - The last Great Jam of the 60s
  13. Just in case you want to add some personal traits to add to the authenticity to the part https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2024/dec/07/u2-bassist-adam-clayton-when-i-was-drinking-there-were-many-times-when-i-was-out-for-the-night-and-didnt-come-back-for-a-week
  14. Those Renaissance bass players had the right idea
  15. Glad you're buying it, it's a lovely bass
  16. Just bought a bag. Let's give 'um a go!
  17. Bought for the wife who said she'd ware it to our gigs 👍
  18. Sorry not to be a buyer, just an admirer, but this is just gorgeous. If I hadn't already spent money on my 60th birthday present, this definitely would have been it. GLWTS
  19. I hope your next gig goes well. It's a tough situation you have, and there's not always an easy resolve it.
  20. Yes, you're right, try to be more direct. Plus you need the support of your other band members as well when you bring up the subject. Have you tried videoing/recording a gig for the band to listen back to? It may highlight the problem a bit easier to the other members. Sometimes in small venues, you just can't get the levels you want due to accoustics/layout of the venue.
  21. If he's using IEMs, does he actually know you're getting feedback? Set up a mic in front of the PA on a hidden fader (from the drummer) and send the feedback into his IEMs (doesn't have to be deafening, aa tempting as it may be!) In the immortal words of Reg Presley "drummers, I sh1t 'um"
  22. He doesn't seem to mind upsetting you (or the band)
  23. Just because you do the sound, I don't think it's just your problem. Doesn't the singer get annoyed with the feedback? Or everyone else? Tell them they can't go any louder because of the drummer. I've mixed bands with loud drummers, and tell them the sound wasn't great because their drumner drowned everything else out (same with lead guitarists). It's everyone's problem, not just yours.
  24. An arranger I once worked with (as engineer, not as a musician) once said as a general comment "don't save your best licks until the session is over". Which I think applies to life as well. Do your best at the time, not when what you're doing is over.
