  1. They generally aren't, especially when it comes to packing up!
  2. Excellent choice! Enjoy. Once you get the app going to can increase the volume either via amp settings or I think there's an overall volume adjustment (at least on Mighter Amp there is). I do find the volume of dteamed music a bit quiet though.
  3. The hole in the ground. Bernard Cribbins
  4. Well, funny you should mention it, there is a band called that in the South Bristol /North Somerset area.
  5. To go against the trend on this thread, but I have a Squier CV jazz and a Fender delux jazz. The fender is by far the better instrument. The Squier needed quite a bit of adjustment from new and was then nice to play. But the fender is much, much nicer. Sound, feel and finish. Unplugged, the difference is quite noticeable. The Squier sounds dead in comparison. I haven't really wanted to play the Squier after buying the fender. Not saying Squiers are bad, certainly not, they're great for the money. Plus I'am willing to accept that all basses are different and others will have other experiences.
  6. The skill of keeping clean underwear!
  7. It will work just by just plugging it into your bass and using headphones, but the app gives you access to the settings. There are 6 presets (I think 4 guitar and 2 bass) you can change between on the the unit itself. You don't need the app for it to work. Also bluetoothing to your phone allows you to stream audio to play along to. However, you need headphones with a mini jack, not wireless.
  8. Is it not purely dependant on the instrument? As said, Feders QC wasn't that good so there's bound to be a variation in what's left. I have a 76 Jazz and it's a dream to play. The tone is perfect. I also have a 2018 Delux Jazz that's just lovely, but the 76 just has a feel to it. I also have a Squire Jazz that doesn't get a look in any more. But I'd agree that the money they go for just because they're vintage (regardless of quality) is silly.
  9. Drive my Car. 🧑‍⚖️🧏🧑‍⚕️💁
  10. One where the drummer manages to play the songs at the correct bloody tempo!
  11. After grumbling all weekend about the sound/mix, this is spot on. Can we have GnR and Blonde play again with this mix!
  12. Some really nice soul/funk bass playing with Candi Station now
  13. Once the festival is over, I'll not miss hearing another over compressed drum sound until they mess it all up again next year.
  14. Yes, i think you're missing something here. He's loosing his voice, taking a 'stress' break and could barely sing the last number. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/jun/24/lewis-capaldi-at-glastonbury-review
  15. I'm sure James said to his roadie "you can tune it now" as he handed his bass over at the end
  16. And haven't heard any of them yet on the coverage. Even through hifi speakers.
  17. Not bass related, but backup issue related. Our drummer accidentally knocked our guitarists Les Paul off its (not that steady) stand before our gig on Saturday. Snapped the headstock at the join (inherent Les Paul weak point). Drummer was mortified. Luckily the guitarist had a spare Tele to play and was upset but ok about it. Shows the worth of a backup instrument. We're all good friends so no arguments or fist were raised.
  18. Not 100% sure, but i think pre/post is just pre/post main fader. It should keep the processing. If FOH levels are changed, you'll want foldback set to pre so it doesn't effect the foldback. Sends to effects however are set to post so if the FOH levels are changed, so is the send level. Otherwise you'll just endup with the effect return and no dry signal.
  19. It's been said already, but a tech rehursal really should be the next step. One where there's no pressure of setting up for a gig, and everyone can say what they need with time to sort it. Set up in a rehursal room as you woukd for a gig. We use the Soundcraft U24 and and IEMs (and have done for 3 years) but we just had a 'reset' of levels and spent a good couple of hours setting it up right. Myself and the drummer can both engineer live sound so we can both work the desk (and we have an engineer for gigs). We've had terrible sound before, and I agree it can be a terrible experience. And you shouldn't compromise, you just need time to sort it. The pre-gig stress time isn't the ideal place to be sorting out issues .
