What are the P bass body contours like? As I stated in the other thread I'd love a white blonde relic someday,- like a lightly worn AV57. But I'd like a real light body with nice contours, 1.625 neck, (possibly even smaller) heavy rolled fingerboard. I'm sure he could do it. What is the rough cost of a custom order? Anyone have one in Cornwall I can try?

When it falls will always be my favourite. I think Simple Things probably has the better singles, but When It Falls is a joy from start to finish.

Interesting thread. I had a C4H a few years ago which was a joy to play- light, well balanced, beautiful neck, but sounded crap. I didn't bother wasting time switching pickups and just sold it on, but would be interested to know how you get on. FWIW it sounds like you want a stingray? Get a stingray! The new MM subs are very light with non-chunky necks.

Vocal is too high in the mix again. Damn I hate U2. And Coldplay.

Thanks to the ever wonderful David at Cotswold Bass guitars I may soon have a 70's project P bass to work on. One thing is a definite- it needs a refin! I wondered if anyone could give guidance on the available colours at this time? The bass looks as if it was originally black, and has a wonderful grain which would compliment my preferred choice of white blonde, but i'm completely ignorant as to what was available at this time, other than that really weird mocha brown colour! I saw a yellow precision with an S8 serial in Modern Music in Truro a few years back- it wasn't faded Oly white, it was very much yellow- ferrari yellow, if you like. It looked like the original finish so not sure what this was? Thanks guys!

I am the mirror image of you Sir- a bassist learning drums! I played them in my teenage years although not to a particularly high standard, but always wanted to return to them one day. For my birthday this year I was given an old Tama Rockstar kit. The Mrs isn't happy, but it's in the spare room and takes a beating almost every day!
