You might be right. I don’t have a Precision to compare and don’t know anyone who has one.

Pickfords will be expensive and the quality of service is up and down. The Panalpina suggestion is a good one, as they have been in business a long time and they are a proper freight forwarding company who also do overseas removals. They will ship it in a container along with other customers goods, unload at the port of entry or their depot and deliver to you. You can also ask them to pack it, which might be a good idea.

My 72 Jazz is 10lbs. A P bass body is larger.

Use a proper company that ships personal effects. Not a courier company. International removal companies will know how to do this. Your goods should be declared as personal effects, not new, with a reasonable declared value. As personal effects they will not attract any duties. Most UK based International removal companies will have contacts in European countries that can handle the Italian end for you. This used to be my profession.

Do you clean your strings - if so what do you use

There’s never enough left in the bottle for a decent drink afterwards. -
When do you know its time to change your strings

I carried a stolen bar towel in the case for years. Wiped my hands and strings/neck periodically during a gig. Still have it. Fast Fret on strings between sessions. -
Pub Bands playing their own Material...Mission Creep?
Cliff Edge replied to skidder652003's topic in General Discussion
“Play something we know”. How the hell are you supposed to know what they know? What’s the point in playing the same stuff every other pub band plays. -
Joey Jordison, Slipknot’s founding drummer, dies at age 46 <https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/jul/28/slipknots-joey-jordison-corralled-chaos-with-his-explosive-talent> Slipknot we’re never my cup of tea but it’s always sad to hear this kind of news. Particularly when the person is younger than yourself.

Bad records that are good, even brilliant

There’s a whole album full on “Benny Hill Sings?” Deliberately so and one of my favourite albums of all time. And who doesn’t like Ernie? -

Plectrums not allowed, and no hitting below B. -
Am I the only one who has never played a P Bass.?
Cliff Edge replied to bubinga5's topic in Bass Guitars
The only thing a Fender P Bass needs to be more or less perfect, is a Jazz bass neck. There, I’ve said it. -
I love the way some threads on here gently slide from serious to frivolous within a couple of pages.

Great undiscovered music artists of the world...

As the actress said to the bishop. -
Why not? Music is a kind of religion to many. Call it Christian if you like but that’s a bit exclusive and certain other religions are already a bit jumpy.

For Religious Punk a cheap pair of sandals is essential along with a sanctimonious grin. Oh and any old bass and amp you find in Cash Converters will polish the image just fine.

I did this on my 2004 Korean SR900 on which I have installed Nordstrand Big Singles. It didn’t work. However the Big Singles are a major improvement over the Bart MK1’s even with the original preamp.

Smoke on the Water - Heavy Metal?
Cliff Edge replied to Killed_by_Death's topic in General Discussion
Very difficult to find music no-one enjoys. Scottish and Irish folk music is certainly not universally appreciated (ducks). And there’s anything Morris dancers jig about to. -
Smoke on the Water - Heavy Metal?
Cliff Edge replied to Killed_by_Death's topic in General Discussion
Interesting piece, thanks for that, but it fails to come up with a definite answer. All the suspects, music critics, never really liked the music, describing it in various ways as a load of over loud rubbish. Bangs review of the Black Sabbath album though, is hilarious. -
Smoke on the Water - Heavy Metal?
Cliff Edge replied to Killed_by_Death's topic in General Discussion
Heavy metal thunder refers to motor cycles, not a music genre. Some people consider the song the first heavy metal song but this is not likely as it was written as a ballad. Steppenwolf just upped the tempo and changed some lyrics. And they were not a heavy metal band either. But who originally applied the phrase to a music genre or a band? -
Smoke on the Water - Heavy Metal?
Cliff Edge replied to Killed_by_Death's topic in General Discussion
Depends on your definition of classic. It’s of its time, and it’s certainly not heavy metal in the recognised sense. And I’ve often wondered who comes up with these definitions. Why Heavy Metal ferinstance? Was it some jobbing scribbler on the NME? -
Paul Simonon's bass inducted into Museum of London
Cliff Edge replied to TheGreek's topic in General Discussion
Slightly off topic, I wasted an evening at a Mavericks concert in London. I couldn’t see where the high harmonies were coming from as the bass player and drummer were obviously not the source. I moved across to the side of the.auditorium (standing only) and saw keyboard player Jerry Dale McFadden hidden just off the side of the stage supplying backing vocals. At that time the band was still officially a trio. -
What are your favourite settings on the BDDI Curious to know what sounds players get out of it and are any other effects/pedals used to enhance the results.

Wanton vandalism. I foolishly sold a fine old Japanese Aria Pro II to a friend who created a similar piece of art when he realised he could never learn how to play it. Bastard.
