First of all I may be stepping into controversy here, or maybe not (I'm sure I'll soon find out, but I'm not courting it). I'm putting this ad up on behalf of someone who isn't welcome on here. Yes this is giving him access to BC's sales facilities but it's also making gear available to a whole lot of people who wouldn't otherwise be aware. I could link in a for sale thread from eBay or Gumtree or a 'mate' and the seller could be Genghis Khan's evil brother or worse but no-one would make a comment. If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me and I can put them in touch with the seller. Peter Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 c/w footswitch and bag Two NeoX112T cabs. This is a great little rig. Tube Pre is great because there are two volume controls, one on the in and one on the out. So if you want clean; in at 3 o'clock, out at 9 o'clock. Warm; in and out at 12 o'clock. Dirty; in 9 o'clock, out 3 o'clock. Three band EQ with para mid control. Three pre-shapes; bass boost, mid cut, top boost. All 3 controlled from the footshitch and all 3 on gives you the slap sound (if you must) that is usually just one switch on most amps. As you good people know of my good fortune in picking up a new rig cheap as chips I am gonna let this go cheap as chips. I would prefer to sell complete and for collection cos I am a lazy FlowerpotFlowerpotFlowerpotFlowerpot. £600 the lot.

I forgot to mention the 3 band compressor too. There's clear indication for everything, fine tuning, gain and clipping, semi parametric setup, tubetone, compressor operation. Good to hear some folk have been using them for a good while with no apparent reliability issues. There's a huge largely +ve thread on TalkBass. Peter

I've gigged mine a couple of times, either through one or two Aguilar DB112's depending on the venue. As an ex LMII user I'm very pleased. It has quite a 'warm' tone (and that's entirely subjective of course) and I wouldn't let the lack of 50 'paper watts' put you off. Plusses, tone, variability (semi parametric on all 4 EQ's) features - 3 presets, pedal with mute and remote tuner, useful tube emulation. Minuses, one Speakon output (need to 'daisy chain' two or more cabs), can't read the 'captions' under the cover lip (not an issue in practice I find). I would say they are quite expensive and I also get the feeling that the cabs maybe aren't as good as the head? Legion has gigged his more often than me though. Peter

Well Rich, my GAS trail is possibly too embarrassing to the point that I can't remember all the participants. I'm loving my Empathy though That S2 5er is a bit immense. Peter

I'm surprised that this is still knocking around, especially at this price. These bags are the ultimate in protection and toughness in my experience and I manage to fit cables, spare tuner, spare batteries, cleaning cloth and even a stand in mine too with room to spare. I've not tried an iGiG but I'm over the moon with my No1 gig bag and paid a whole lot more than this for it. Peter

I know. Photobucket want me to upgrade to Pro to increase my allowance. Other possible avenues being explored.

I was busy wandering with my camera and didn't get a chance to play with the RH450 or my DB112's. If anyone did use either some feedback would be appreciated. Peter
My 1210R has done well over 150 gigs without any problems. My 1212L (over a year old) has done about 30+ gigs. The dust cap going had nothing to do with Jorg so while there are some who have had problems i say its not the norm and will be happy to buy another Schroeder if i needed to. Saying that i quite fancy a BFC next.
I hear what you say but think that some of the issues disclosed are quire inexcusable.

Spot on and I thought Dave may like to make his own comment so didn't name him. I do think that the design is really good. I also think that if you charge that sort of money you have a commercial duty to justify it in terms of build quality and quality assurance. I remember when the US was very strong on these things. I also happen to think you're a bit of a star for lending Dave your cab in the 1st place

I personally wouldn't touch a Schroeder. A friend of mine who has built some really extremely high quality BFM cabs recently tried out a Schroeder and sold his Aguilar GS112's as he was so impressed with the sound. He ordered a new Schroeder and the build quality and wiring was so bad (like the tweeter was not properly connected) that he immediately sent it back. As just one example the grill had been powder coated flat, then bent into shape and a magic marker used to colour where the powder coating had understandably flaked off on the outer edges of the bend. The driver apertures in a recent build thread look like they've been done by a 5 yr old let loose with a fretsaw! Even if most sound good this sort of production process is imo taking the P out of the customer big time. If I was in the business of making these cabs I'd be mightily embarrassed by some of the practices used by my employees. As for a quality assurance process? It seems to be that if you enter into a lottery when buying any expensive (well they aint cheap) item then the producer shouldn't be in business. Pedro

This 'famous' HazLabs pre amp is a $500 Spector upgrade that's presently sitting in my white Euro LX. It sounds superb as it should and isn't a Tone Pump but a treble and bass cut and boost preamp with volume and blend. Comes board mounted for a Euro LX and includes a battery clip. I just prefer having a mid control. Looking for £250 or offers in the region of or straight trade for a U-Retro deluxe. A great upgrade to a Tonepump imo. Peter

That Lakland in Guitar and Bass this month....
GreeneKing replied to Moos3h's topic in General Discussion
I don't know but if you're talking the Lakland Decade with 'Hum cancellers' maybe you need to check out the equivalent cost of the US ones before you start having a go? The low standard of living is taken advantage of by the West in order to supply cheaper basses to Western punters. We benefit from people who live in conditions we wouldn't tolerate ourselves. To moan about paying too much for a bass because of this seems to me like perpetuating what could be seen as an offensive practice. -
I can think of at least ooh 4 Fenders. Out of perhaps more than 70 basses. Interesting.
-
Final batch methinks: Boys 'n' cake: There's a P bass here somewhere, a rather nice 73 with an early body. The Sandberg is a real beauty too. Mr Thumbs gear: Paul's ACGs hiding in a corner: Mine, all mine: More: Joe's rather special Sadowsky: I wonder what they're saying? Alan our host on the far right: Alan (NGH's) superb gear. The rig attracted a lot of favourable comment and the Shuker too. I loved the 5P, a superb example that one Alan:
-
A few more Alan: Matt and a rather tasty looking G&L: Rich paying homage to another even nicer (imo) one: Joe, Paul and Russ looking like they know what they're doing with Joe's Sadowsky: Stuart, after giving it a very good go, handing the 9 string over to anyone brave enough to chance it: This photo captures the flavour of the day for me. I did check my flies!
-
A few more for posterity: Dave P demonstrating the headless Harlot: A personal favourite, G&L US model that I can't remember but stunning. Ebony board, birdseye in extremis: Just some of Matt and Rich's collection from Aberdeen plus a couple of mine: Eude with Matt's resurrected De Armond: The neck binding detail on Sean's Sei is incredible: Joe and my NS5. I'm biased but I think it sounded rather nice Russ and Bongo time:
-
Here's a few more snaps from the day: Bob's Zon Sonus: Matt's Traben together with about 50 basses from North of just about anywhere The Compact got a very thorough testing. Paul (Sugden) learning how to play bass and needing some instruction: Paul (Mr Thumb) playing Bob's Pedulla. This bass sounded beautifully like a bass, loads of low down balls. The bass isn't that small but Paul tends to make em look that way. This ACG was very well received by all who played it. A firm favourite methinks and yes, it's Bob's.
-
I'm still knackered but here's a couple more Just about my favourite bass of the day although I can't play it. Hollow bodied Skelf with a piezo bridge. This one's a (lucky) customer's fretless: The Graft 5 string and the fretless again: Alan (NiceGuyHomer) with the hollow body: Bob Palt's Roscoe, Zon and Wilkins. Bob has a superb harem. Dave's Masterclass. Joe (Toasted) with Bob's Roscoe: Russ (Rayman) noodling with Joe's Sadowsky: Sean (4000's) stunning Sei basses: Cameron's (Wayne58) incredible Wood and Tronics: Many more to come. Peter

I'm totally knackered but I've just hosted 3 photos to give you a flavour. Paul (Mr Thumb) the van, 10 basses, 3 cabs, 2 heads, 11 stands etc. Dave, a star (although he probably won't forgive me for this photo) Eude looking like he knows what he's doing: Oh and there's so many beautiful basses to come Dave's too short masterclass was quite something. Oh for my video camera.
-
I took 110 photos! Certainly the best bass bash and the finest collection of basses I've ever witnessed. A bunch of fine people too, excellent food and beer, all round better way to run things with the social element and overnight stay. You really get a chance to get to know people. Awesome. Need to sort phots but I've already seen some classics
oh what!!!!!!!!!!!when was this? are there anymore in scotland coming up.
It was well advertised, shame you couldn't make it. Next time?
