My old bass synth pedal used to boost the volume, didn't know there was a trim pot in there, considering going back to this with the exp mod, will it make squelchy, wah synth noises, I ain't got a pedal so can't replicate what the addition of an exp' pedal will do! Tony

I already said the gig we did on Sauturday night was not too good with the sound, but the band played good! We got joined on stage for the last two tracks (one original and Looking at you - MC5) by Aziz Ibrahim (stone roses / Ian Brown) great player, as the MC5 track is a bit easy, I just stood and watched for a while, this guy has some serious skills, and is a nice chap with it! Next we got a quiet mid week Retro Bar slot, the Sunday 12th June at Moho live in manchester Tony
I'm going to stick some Nordies in my Sei Jazz in the next few weeks (and get the Barts out - 'not a fan). I was thinking of putting an Audere pre in at the same time - Nordstrand seems to use either an Audere or his own pre (or nothing) to pair with his pickups. Depending on what you're looking for tone-wise, Mike Pope may be worth a look at (and I suspect you'll have some experience here).
We need to discuss this further, this is exactly the route I am going! Out with the barts! Tony

which Nordy p/ups are you considering, I think there are a few types of dual coils, fat stacks being one? I want to replace my Bart's with Nords once I get some cash Currently have a bart pre which is OK, but have two coil tap switches which I'm always knocking out of position, gonna do away with the CT's I was considering the audere with the 6 way pot Tony

Hi How many of you play basses that have different string spacings i.e. 19mm and 17.5mm (or less)? Just curious how you guys find it moving between the two. I had a few Warwicks a few years back, the five string was narrower than the 4 (hence the wide warwick option being available) I found it OK, 4 was easier for slap, but don't do too much of that, but overall not a problem, spoke to someone the other day who really didn't get on with it! Cheers Tony
