1. Very nice, would go well with my white sei! T
2. As well as the live version, the exended version on the Musiquarium album is worth a listen, Humprhey Littleton on trumpet, Nate doing some bass noodling and some band howling!
3. I'm liking the daphne blue spitfire It is missing a string though! Tony
4.
Nice bass Tony, whats the serial on the back of the headstock?
Cheers! 4940
5. Here's the new Pedulla being used in anger ai Moho Live In Manchestere a few weeks back, EBS rig (1/2 size) in background
6. ...and I even found a flyer!
7. That sounds like a plan! Have you got both p/ups switched? Tony
8. I have a bart pre in my Sei and it's something I want to change, it's not the most effective pre i've used, I've had far better results from East pre's in the past, for example, tghe top end seems all or nothing at times. I would wait for a second hand east to show up just to give it a go, if it doesn't work then you will be able to pas it on easily. My pentabuzz works well in my band with stock pre, wish it had a mid control though, but I can get what I want out of it with a slight mid boost on my TD650. Running through 2 x 4x10's does give it some punch as well Hows the poly coating holding out on your buzz, I've just had mine removed, there was somewear and it was buzzing too much, had to roll the top end off to make it palyheable, now it's back to ebony and it sounds sweet. Probably gonna try some ground wounds to see how they sound and protect the neck as I do like to dig in a bit! Cheers Tony
9. Who was it who said "it's the bass players job to make the drummer sound good" Follow the bass drum, watch for accents on the cymbals as they usualy work with the bass line, you'll soon get to work out if your drummer can drop out every now and then, if that happens you need to stay with the groove not him, he'll find it again if he's any good. he also needs to be on it if you put a flowery bit in (as our guitarists calls it) he needs to stay locked if you do that! I work with a good drummer, sometimes we'll identify something we need to work on, just to really tighten it up, the guitarist will stop for a while whilst we get it nailed, it ususaly doesn't take very long! Tony
10. Thinking about putting some Nordy dual coils in my bass to replace my Barts I see from the website they are available for both series and parallel use (my barts have coil taps) only the parallel wired p/ups are recommended for splitting as there is no gain loss. I may split the bridge p/up only this time round as I got too many switches on my current J plate. Anyone had any experience of either of these. I may just go down the BIG single route?? Give me a clue, give me some opinions on the nordy humbuckers Cheers Tony
11.
The only Wah anyone should buy is the automagic earthquake wah. On the other hand, if you spend £270 on a wah, you probably want your head looking at.
+1

13. TM Stevens & Marco Mendoza touring in September with Swans In flight (Bass guitar mag poeple) TM was the standout at Bass Day for me, so I will be going to Manchester date on 25th september anyone else having some? Tony
14. The EBS wah is probably the best sounding wah I've owned, I'm just not that keen on the switching, you have to depress the pedal to switch it on and off and it isn't a definite on/off feel under your foot IMHO, and with your foot on the pedal you can't always see the red light, much prefer the 105Q style where it activates when you start to use it. Very tweakable though, I use it mainly with the blowtorch or OC2 as that is what the band needs I'm just in the process of sourcing a new looper, custom made to suit my board, there was going to be an EBS multidrive on there as well, but the person selling it went off the radar Updated pics coming soon Tony
15. The loop needs to be on, the small black button determines weather it is on all the time or weather the loop is active just with the momentary footswitch
16. Very familiar bass! T
17. A Ball of Meat in all it's tweakable glory!
18. Thia is a shot of my board last month, it's evolving at the moment, so many changes The chorus pedal and BSW have both departed, there are now a Boss OC-2 and EBS multi comp on there. Custom looper being worked on at the moment I am using an LS-2 as well, trying to keep the levels between my fretted and fretless basses the same, but I may look at building a simple A>B switching facility with level control into my new loooper, the guy who is probably going to build it can probably do this Tony
19.
Can you hear the electrical 'pop' sound when you switch the momentary ones?
No!
20. ? Probably the worse purchase I have tried to make on bass chat, this guy is a waste of time!! Tony
21. So what happened then, you told me it was mine a few days back, asked about payment and then nothing? Please reply to PM's Tony
22. Boomstick bottom feeder is working for me, the simplicity is nice! Lovetone meatball for sale if anyone wants the ultimate tweakable filter So hows the Mutron treating you? Tony
23. I have to swap basses, I play fretless on one, sometimes two songs in our set (origanils, so 8/9 song set) I have to move quick to make it happen, biggest problem I have is getting the sound on my amp to suit fretless, the output of the Bart pre in my Sei is much higher than my Pedulla, I just got a Boss LS-2 to make the change easier. Maybe looking at making the chnage happen quicker like I have done is an option? Good luck finding a solution T
