1. Here's the drum'n'bass part of the beat combo...
2.
Aaah..! A 'Lenny' track with a key..! Refreshing, unexpected, almost a shock..! Still, has animal content, so tradition is respected. Raunchy stuff; I even tapped my toe. I liked the cowbell.
Ta! And it's not a cowbell, it's a dugong bell...
3. I've decided not to subject y'all to my "singing" this month... However, I was fiddling about (as you do) and discovered a whale noise. As the piccy had some large mouths in it I felt it would be rude not to do something to help those noble creatures. After all, there's nowt a whale likes better than a guitar that sounds a bit like one of his mates with a funky backing. I give you "Say 'Aaah'" http://soundcloud.com/dredd-and-the-badass-weed/say-aaah
4.
5. Rare appearance by Dredd and the Badass Weeds, featuring members of Utah Saints, New Fast Automatic Daffodils, Cassandra Complex, Snapdragons ad Barf Roco on 25th July at the Frog and Parrot, Sheffield at 6.45pm as part of the Tramlines festival. Expect funk, dub and rock!
6. 11... As I only ever learned to read via the piano (gave up more than 35 years ago!) I couldn't read any clefs other than bass and treble. Haven't read music since, apart from my recent foray into Pictures at an Exhibition!
7. Don't know if it's just what I produce that causes it, but I keep getting likes from strange folks with no music under their profile, just an address like LovelyLorelei99456.com... Weird music lovers or just dodgy? Needless to say I haven't clicked on the links (honest!)
8.
Pack 'em in, Len, pack 'em in. The more the merrier. Careful with that 'key' stuff, though, or you'll get taken for a serious musician.
Not much danger of that, the serious bit especially...
9.
What..? That's not dissonant enough..?
Now let me stress that this probably isn't my entry to this month's compo, but it was inspired by the piccy! https://soundcloud.com/dredd-and-the-badass-weed/its-not-me-its-you I've got another one on the go as well which is actually in a key! In fact, it's in more than one key and it's got a rockin' interlude...
10. There's never an excuse for bagpipes.
11.
Here we go then, folks, try this for size... Pachelbel Passion ... Enjoy.
Particularly like the Henry Threadgill style bass horns! I'll bet your compo next month will be dissonant and/or modal jazz...
12. I've done something which may appal everyone... Myself included! Now do I dare upload it, and perhaps do a slightly more accessible one as well?
13. Excellent stuff from al, yet again! Let's hope the next pic is something chaotic so I can do some noisecore or free improv...
14.

OK, to the one with the most donkeys in it...
15. Perhaps all un-cast votes should be allocated to the song that has the dubbiest feel...
16.
I think I might take Russell Hoban's 'Riddley Walker'. If you've not read it, treat yourself.
Awesome book!
17.
I tend to get all excited about trying to write and record something, then, when its done and published, I feel a bit gutted that I have finished it , but then when voting pops, up I am happy cos I know its not long till the next one
Luckily I'm also recording backing keyboard arrangements for the Weeds upcoming Sheffield Tramlines gig which will occupy me until the next piccy... And I've narrowed my votes down to 4!
18. Today I'd have: 1. Vivaldi Bassoon Concertos (cos it's gorgeous) 2. Parliament - P Funk (wants to get funked up) {cos it's The Bomb} 3. Jacques Loussier - Play Bach - Italian Concerto {then I can have both jazz and Bach. In fact I can't relly listen to the Italian Concerto played "straight" without thinking it was somehow wrong...) 4. Sex Pistols - Holidays in the Sun {it was the first punk I heard and it changed my outlook on music and the attitude needed} 5. Ian Dury and the Blockheads - Hit me with your rhythm stick {got me into both bass and funk} 6. Praxis - Transmutation/Transmutandis {Bootsy, Buckethead, Bill Laswell, Bernie Worrell and Brain! What's not to like?} 7. Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Derek Bailey and Calvin Weston - Mirakle {free improve jazz funk noise!} 8. Zapp - Dancefloor {you've got to have a bit of a boogie!} As a book I'd take my annotated copy of Selected Climbs in Snowdonia by Paul Williams, and the luxury would be a cellar of fine wine.
19. I'd have a nice bit of bass fried the Thai way with a chilli and tamarind sauce.
20.
Really?!
Only joking...
21. David Cameron Kim Kardassian
22.
I have only just clocked why you were first in here Mr Smalls , You do have a connection with Arizona
"Name's Smalls, Leonard Smalls. Friends call me Lenny, only I ain't got no friends."
23.
OK then Lots of singing on this one I am afraid , but I suppose a ballad has to have some words The Ballad of Ed Scheiffelin I hope you enjoy
Nice! I could definitely imagine that going on in the bar while Audie Murphy stands on a box battling with the likes of Broderick Crawford!
