1. Argh!! I wish people would stop putting Overwater's up, i'm trying to focus on guitars!
2. Love any candy apple red. I'm liking the jackson, very hair metal just needs a graphic on the pink/fiesta red for me
3. Who is that?? Always wanted a Meidl Warwick
4. PENDING PART EXCHANGE
5.
As Lemmy and Rickenbacker go hand in hand....why a Fender?..........he would have been as well signing the drum kit.....or...roll up roll up......come and get your overpriced kazoos signed by Mr Kazoo himself....Lemmy!
6. Back up at £1200 + P&P. I'm adamant to get this back so part exchange options have to reach this (at least ) . It is a very low chance you'll get me on a trade as I like the vintage settings I get on the Marleaux. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGzcZHrixrk Here's a chap playing a fretted version, the guy with the camera looks away when he hits the B string half way through to look at the guitars but he comes back. You can hear its an ultra defined 34" B though. Soundclip of it fretless up top. 7.7lbs of sheer flawless quality!
7. Really really nice finish!
8.
My headless ACG Harlot is certainly rare as it's the only one like it.
Like it! I love unusual basses, totally skipped buying or owning a fender style bass because they didn't stand out enough for me. However, I wouldn't have had so much trouble selling up if I had taken the popular route, selling my Kubicki was a mission and a half - wouldn't mind owning an another though. I'll never learn.
9.
This one, and its now mine, mwhahaha
Nice buy Clarky!
10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8ayLvWRUqI...feature=related The Vincent Maurogiova Signature by Wood and Tronics, my favourite bass to date. Sorry, I couldn't find a picture of one although there was a chap selling one on here not too long ago.
11. I like have an active/passive switch. Long practice sessions I like passive and gigs I like active.
12. Some more interesting offers on this Ricky-esque Marleaux, still no one taking it home though...
13. They are incredibly to look at and I bet they play great too! If I were Mugabe I'd be using that charity aid money to stand one up next to my gold plated Royce.
14. Wow...what a boring colour.
15. Wow! High end bass indeed!
16. Actually now you mention primus must have one somewhere lol nevermind!
17. Is there such a thing as a good slapped fretless bass recording??? Ooooo
18. I had a German Hoyer EB3, if you could find use of the two woofier settings it was flawless.
19.
I like the videos below, they show off that amazing Kubicki slap sound. Perhaps the best one I heard was a cover of a guy playing 'Heathrow' by Level 42 on a Kubicki Ex Factor, it sounded incredible. The video doesn't appear to be on youtube anymore though!
I sold my Kubicki to Jan Hollberg, a very nice chap indeed - they are the best traditional sounding slap basses, Status/Modulus is a different world - I've personally never liked a thru neck bass' slap tone
20.
I was always a reluctant admirer of fretless bass until I heard Rick Danko
This is my kinda music!
21. Do love the fretless on the John Martyn songs. Talk Talk's fretless stingray tone is just brilliance.
22. Still listening to part exchange offers on this. The ebay ad has better pictures also.
23. Why does the Zender bass have to be ugly
24. Aww wicked! Thanks guys i've got a sod of an assignment to write for University, these should keep me awake until the morning! I love ink illusian by Alain Caron and Michael Manring's enormous room but the rest have yet to be heard! My mum's a massive fan of Paul Young and Kate Bush so maybe i'll recognise those from uncountable car journeys . Thanks again! Keep em coming!
25. This has to be my favourite fretless bass recording to date if I take Jaco out of the equation. One of the best Santana songs IMHO, made me dip my hand in my pocket to get my Cort A4 defretted by Overwater. That said, i've never transcribed it! I made an attempt 4 years ago and remember giving up because my hi-fi speakers were shot. Tonight I'll be grabbing the sennheiser headphones and giving it another go! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfh3p0qcSLs What outstanding fretless bass tracks spring to your mind?? No Jaco !!
