1. I've tried both and the precision bass has a comfier, less cramped neck and plays better chordally, I prefer the sound of a P too if it has a high output, whether using rounds or flats. I won't lie I'd love a Fender Jazz fretless but only for the bridge pickup tone and because the playing angle is different, its still worse chordally - for me anyway. A fretless precision is too much of a stretch.
2. Never understood the point of a neck pickup on a tele, great guitar!
3. What finish is the CIJ Tele bass?
4.
this guy uses my bass head for guitar ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNiOy-LtU-U could you not use yours? edit: untill you sell I meant.... but then a genz benz is possibly very different, and you may want to play rockabilly or something where it wouldn't be suitable!
Cheers for the link Luke . It sounds fantastic playing my semi hollow through the bass head, brilliant for the clean stuff (Lynyrd Skynyrd etc) but I was really after an Orange Valve amp for my Charvel for some screamy overdrive. I'm not in a band at current so the Genz Benz only gets some use when I'm transcribing stuff in front of my laptop - no gigs as yet! criminal.
5. Back up again as a £1000 Christmas present. I really, really, really want to switch to guitar
6. How is it tuned? Like a 6 string bass meets guitar? Impressive playing too!! The mind boggles when I see these, do you play it through a bass amp?

9. If my guitar can whoop a Gibson, i wouldn't doubt for a second that this would top a pre-2008 Fender easy
10. Oh Ballz! If you play guitar you can have my immaculate ESP PC-2V, can't shift my bass gear so i'm gradually conceeding.
11. I've always wanted a precision or strat like this with a white pickguard and rosewood board similar to Rocco Prestia. Fantastic finish and few buy it! So 2nd hand thats a find indeed!
12. Ahh, can't believe i've never seen that before! Have a bump!
13. A shuker I saw was 10lbs roughly which I guess is good for a 6 string, just wondered if any came in at 9lbs
14.
My Cort Curbow 5 is very light, so I don't imagine a six would be much heavier...
I'd like to try a roscoe one day, but I could never afford it. I reckon the Ibanez would be pretty much the same as the Cort. The Curbow however!! I saw a cracking player at Cardiff Bass Bash on a 6 string version, perhaps that was why he bought it.
15. I really enjoyed playing a cort a6 which I should have never sold. However it really bugged my shoulder!! I never weighed it, but I was just wondering what is the lightest 6 string for the small guys?
16. Only way to improve that is a new tortoise shell pickguard. Absolute blinder, don't how you get your basses to shine so much more than mine
17. I don't understand why this has a natural maple top i've never seen one before. I though DC stands for double cut?
18. That looks a stonker! I do love the paisley finish, for men with big cojones. Really nice figuring on the neck too. I didn't know of a Fender Japan Custom shop till this. The single coil P basses have a real something tonewise I can't put my finger on. Thanks for putting up the pics!
