2. If you've played a G&L previously and enjoyed their electronic innovations stick with!! I have and i've just bought my 5th yesterday . I've not had a tribute but the yankie ones were very nice indeed (L2000 & L2500), I had no trouble finding the tones I wanted from Jaco to Jack Bruce. I never worry about build quality with this brand.
3. That space bass is awesome, you need the Warwick bootsy to go with!!
4. The amount of times i've done that - I just turn into a space cadet tuning strings. If you think that's bad, try setting up a Floyd Rose or a Bigsby!!
5. Well you should be reassured that you have a Stage 1 for your modern tones and a Precision for your vintage sound . I like thumbs (electronically) but I hear they're uncomfortable to play in comparision with a Streamer - apparently feel like making your way round a 35" scale.
6. I'd be giving it away too if it sounded like that!
7.
There is a difference for me between Fancy and Stylish. I play simple stuff on a stylish chrome Warwick I don't like wood finishes at all, but the huge exception to this is the Xylem basses in the Basschat affiliates thread, they are utterly delicious!
Always wanted to get a chrome warwick and then go join Judas Priest
8. Every Music Man Sterling guy needs to try a Kubicki
9. That's very nice indeed!
10. Damn that's nice!!
11. I usually don't like see through sunburst's on the cheaper Fender ranges - just because you can see the several pieces of wood glued together BUT that Squier's grain is very lovely indeed!! I'm surprised it's as nice, if not nicer than my recently sold '62 AVRI
12. GAS
13. Ahh ya see!! All my bumping worked, well at least you painted the badge on it for the buyer
14. Ok ok, now you done that, MISSION 2!! Shave the ends off and make it fit round the soundhole of a Spanish classical guitar
15. Do it !! Big one - like so:
16. Can't help but smile at timber basses like that, the back is as beautiful as the front. Love Bartolini soapbars, nice rounded thud
17. It's funny you ask this, every musicman I've played has had a twisted neck dead spots or bowing (I took one in part ex and sold it on without playing it). I wouldn't touch em with a barge pole anymore, especially after musicman20's return of a stingray classic, plus, I just hate the screws on the pickup sticking into my thumb - not comfortable. I'd sit tight with your CV precision and jazz! Try a kubicki
18. Is there another pickup under that cover?
19. Thanks! I use chorus on fretless basses a lot but always reverb - never bought an amp that doesn't have it! Thomann has some great, unique instruments - I still get the offers letter from when I bought my first bass . You must be a big guy to handle a 6 string fretless! If I returned to bass i'd be an under 9lbs 4 string fretless chap - tiny hands n feeble back haha...Oh!!! And I'd definately have a BOSS DR880 in my setup
20. Thanks Funkgod, I like the powerbass and acousticbass settings a lot - they sound good with anything. Some of the guitar effects even sound good with a bass plugged in too! You don't really need much more than this an amp and a bass - My best setups were this, a roland cube30 and a Sue Ryder...and also this, with a Genz Benz 750 and a Marleaux Fretless Consat 5. Useful for beginner or pro

I have a top of the line Boss DR880 Version 2 Drum Machine in immaculate condition with original manual, plug and (now wrinkled) box etc. I got rid of my Korg Pandora for this - no competition. http://www.youtube.c...d&v=DeOXKdpUi3s It was purchased during University for improvisational practice and composing songs over various chord progressions/keys etc. On it's many preset tracks, including various musical styles, you can dial in (via the volume knobs) guitar, bass and drum accompaniment as well as take them away; you can create your own in drum and bass grooves too of course (get as technical as you like). Through an amplifier or headphones, just plug your instrument in, choose you amp model and effects (or just leave it clean) and you'll have great fun - I promise!! I can provide pictures if requested, but as I say, just a secure, yet wrinkly box to put you off - the machine is as new. These retail at £435 online, so i'm asking for just £195 + postage (will discount for collection). Specifications found below (and feedback below that ): http://www.bossus.co...p?ProductId=473
