1. You'll all hate it I promise...
2.
Mmmmm 4 Skins maybe but I wouldn't want to argue with Hoxton Tom, even now!
I was talking to him the other night as it goes. A real gent and a real good laugh too. He's got some really interesting stories from way back when.
3.
Shoot me down here - but is the process of setting up made to look more complicated than it actually is?
Thats what I'm thinking. Its just I've never really been confident to do it before, especially the truss rod adjustments.
4. Something that I've always thought about but never actually learned is how to set up my own basses. I've been playing for a hell of a long time and just ignored to an extent this subject but now I reckon its time I did my own setting up. One small problem, I don't really know how. Is there anywhere that a humble bass player can learn to set up his own basses? I would gladly pay for someone to teach me how to set up my own bass, rather than pay around £25 each time I need my gear set up. Anyone?
5. You have a PM mate.
6. I'm no expert but the myspace page says London.
7. Hadrien Feraud....wasn't he the pervy bloke that blamed everything on his mother?
8. The Cockney Rejects and all that went with it. but still really into playing with the bands I'm in now...
9. Zoom G2 multi-effects unit. I've got two of these and need to offload one. They're great bits of kit... Here's the blurb here... http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/g2/ Really is a great bit of kit and the only reason I'm selling is that I've got two of these. £45 + postage. Collection from North East London welcome.
10.
I can collect tomorrow.I send you email tomorrow after 13.Thanks
ok mate, but its first come first served
11. I'm just up the road from seven sisters, I'm in Wood Green.
12. Here's the two cabs, (the Traben ain't included so don't ask ! ) Here's the Trace Elliot (note that this isn't the actual head but its identical to this).
13. I'm selling off my rig as I'm after a Trace combo - the SMX type, so as they ain't cheap I'm selling some of my gear (all purchased off here from fellow BC'ers.). 4x10 Peavey Cab 8ohm = £65 (this has had some addtional heavy duty casters put on it) 2x10 SWR MkI Goliath Junior 4 Ohm = £80 (new crossover installed) Trace Elliot AH150 GP7 SM150 = £120 Collection only on these I'm afraid - I'm in North East London, not a million miles from the A406, M11 or M25.
14. How much for the Mexican Strat body?
15.
I'm reminded of this totally awesome clip.
Mummy, why is that man playing a trumpet in his underpants?
16. Me on guitar with the London Diehards, Friday night, great gig in London.
17. I'd be wairy of booking any gigs with an orgainisation the words "consulting" or "soloutions" in their speil. Avoid 'em like the plague, they're not a charity - they're gonna take a whack out of it before you make a bean.
18. I love it and don't care if its cheesey or not - its simply a brilliant song.
19. Bit moot really as you can tune a 4-string B| E | A | D which for a lot of styles is perfectly adequate. Just play and enjoy, don't worry about standards or what the "norm" is.
20. DR Hi-Beam strings and a Sansamp VT. Honestly, even if you eventually sell the Schecter, you'll want to keep the Sansamp. I've got one and use it all the time. Will easily get the sound you've described without a minimal amount of tweaking... here's an example of its versatility... 21.
+1 I like this idea. I am also going to be bandless when I move to London. I DO NOT want a similar type of band now. Im getting a little tired of DIY hardcore punk. It may well be really fun, but it is disorganised, full of rip of promoters, and no one appreciates a good musician of their instruments / setup. Eg small hardcore band bassist asks me 'mate can I use your amp setup?' To which I reply, 'what the Bergantino HS410 and Orange AD200b Mk3?' 'Yeah'. 'You do realise its worth about £2300 in total?' 'Is it, can I use it?' I usually just alow them to use the cab...but to be fair, they usually just take the piss. If I dont take an amp/cab, I take sansamp and DI. Its different with more pro bands and good musicians, they usually offer to pay if a tube goes, etc etc, or we organise to bring a part of the setup each. So....Im outta this now as of December. I also need a new project.
I would disagree there mate. I'm in two punk bands at the moment and don't experience this at all. I wouldn't totally give up on punk to be honest, in London its different. The promoters we use are top drawer and don't rip us off at all. You need to get to know who the rip off merchants are and avoid them. Also, can I make a suggestion? If you don't want people using your expensive set-up then buy a cheaper set up that you won't mind people using.
22. Almost did it with a US Peavey Wolfgang guitar. Managed to see reason before the deal was done.
23. Bought a P-bass from Steve and he's a top bloke. Really easy to deal with. sh*t taste in football but nobodys perfect LOL!
24. What about the one that goes over troubled water...of if you're feeling daring how about the one too far?
