1. errr.... there's an abundance of Chinese or Korean people there ??
2.
Oh I made my own see through plate with a bit of perspex and a lot of time.
make sure you don't do any Chinese or Korean gigs with that guitar. You'd be likely to be lynched by an angry mob.
3. You've got yourself a really nice Jazz bass there. As I said, I'm not really a fan of Fenders but that bass was great both soundwise and playing wise. Now...more ink or another bass? ...hmmmm....
4. I seem to remember a shop called "Holiday Music" in Leyton many moons ago. I actually bought a Yamaha bass from that shop. I never knew they made their own amps too. Any ideas how old that one is ? Just found out they are now a part of Strings Direct based in Rochford, Essex.
5. Good to meet you yesterday - you got a good 'un there mate. Cheers for setting up the Sterling Ray34 too ! Much appreciated !
6. This has now been sold. PLEASE ZAP this thread...
7. LOL! Have you seen the size of some of the Hughes and Kettner Heads ? They're massive. Seriously though, I thought that looked like a 4x12
8. I"ll have the tuners if thats OK mate ? Do you take Paypal ?
9. I use Irongear Hotslag pickups in a Washburn Idol Custom shop guitar and I have to say they are for the money the best pickups out there by far. I was really shocked at how good they actually are. Seriously good value for money and the Hot Slags are great for hardcore / punk / metal and also clean up nicely too. The name is great too.. !!
10. "I used to use this cab with an Ampeg SVT Classic, and it was an unbeatable sound!" I can well imagine !!

13. Still interested in trades for the following: - Trace Elliot SMX head Black w/Maple neck Squier Strat (must have been routed to house a humbucker) + a few quid my way Status Graphite Replacement Neck for Stingray Probably going to stick this on Ebay next week if I don't manage to sell here.
14. They're great basses, but unfortunately for you mate, this has now been sold to Wil. If you're after a 5-string The Yamaha I"m selling is a whole lot of bass for a little money. See the link in my signature.
15. Again, thanks for all the replies fellas. The buzzing starts around the 8th fret on the E, A and D strings. Towards the upper regster, there are a couple of dead notes towards the end of teh neck. As they have agreed to refund me £30 towards a set-up then I think that I'll keep it, my guitar tech charges £30 for a set-up but if there's something minor that can be fixed here then I'd be inclined to have a go myself. To my eternal shame, I've been playing gutiar and bass since I was 13 and never once have I learned how to set up a guitar. I'd love someone to teach me properly as it can save you wads of cash over the years. Maybe something someone could organise - I'd definitley be up for learning.
16. Well I can drop it about three turns on the G-string and its buzzing like a good 'un. The other strings about one or two turns.
17. Here's the pics as promised. If anyone can give me any tips on setting up I'd be grateful - I'm about as useful as the pope's knackers when it comes to setting up basses... Apologies for the photo quality - they were done on my mobile.
18.
! Now that's just lazy... Surely it would take at most a couple of minutes to check that the truss rod and saddles were adjusted correctly?
Yep - or even just pick the thing up, give it a couple of minutes playing to see that it was remotely playable and then stick it back in the box. I know you're all taking my word for it on this one so I'll post pics up later of how its been sent and the nut and string height ratio.
19.
I don't think it's likely to be a problem with the bass, or with the way it left the factory. It sounds more like the shop simply didn't bother to set it up.
Correct. As mentioned the bass itself looks OK and the workmanship appears to be OK - its just the set-up. Well I rang Andertons, spoke to a sales assistant and they've agreed to refund me the price of a set-up which is fair enough. Thumbs up for that. They were at pains to tell me that I was the first person to experience this problem with a Musicman guitar or bass which I can believe. They don't inspect every guitar that goes out the door apparently because the sheer volume of guitars they sell wouldn't make this viable.
