  1. I've never got on with Ashdown. If I was you I'd consider a different brand. I also owned and didn't get on with SWR cabs.
  2. Nice! Glad to hear of your re-discovery Steve! I think I need to re-discover mine too.
  3. Great seller, but I couldn't get this deal to work for me. I was always right on the fence. Good luck with the sale.
  4. Put the babicz on one of my jazz basses. It feels nice, it's well built, doesn't take the skin off your hand like the grub screws do, but I can't detect ant difference in tone or sustain. Maybe my old ears are just too tired to tell the difference though. It's a distinct possibility.
  5. I've been using them recently and I gotta say, I'm very happy with them! Great strings without being the most expensive of the pack.
  6. Hartke! By a country mile! I bought the 350watt head and a couple of SWR cabs after a long break for bass, and got the worst sound it's possible to imagine. That head did everything but a good sound. I sold it at a horrendous loss because I was honest about how sh*t it was, and after the new owner had it a while, I asked how it was... and he loved it. As someone said earlier, one mans meat is another mans poison.
  7. I'm interested in this s buddy! Where are you based? (I'm on iPad and it doesn't show locations) PM to take this s to next stage maybe?
  8. Iuse explorer a work and the text enty box is a nightmare I use exporer at work and the text enry box isa nightmare I us explore atwork and the text etry box is a nightmae See my text above for my problem. This is what I get if I type at a normal speed: Missing character and spaces. This is a new computer too. The older one was equally as bad, which makes me understand.. It's not my machine. And i's only this site in the entire world. Frustrating. Any suggestions? (Not Chrome / Firefox etc. as said earlier, this is a work machine, and I don't have permission to just add stuff.)
  9. I have a Modulus and the neck is so stable that I hardly ever have to tune it when I check. Whether it's been stood for months or played heavily. It's almost unbelievable.
  10. Also interested to know that. It's clearly not a 'Shuker' ...is it?
  11. No. I put some effort in for a while. And did start making headway. I got part way into "the enormous room" before putting it away. I love having it, and who knows maybe one day I'll make a second attempt to master it... But for now it's a "stay at home/bedroom bass". The six string is beautiful sounding and very usable! In fact I've gigged it quite a few times when I've been depping in bands that fit the fretless mojo. Picture to follow if I can find how you do it...
  12. Mine now! I'll get pictures of it with its two brothers... My custom six string hyperbass, the Manring Signature Hyperbass and the Legacy Elite I just bought from Tina. Standby...
  13. I'll take the Q25 at £25 posted bud... PM me to discuss payment method.
  14. That's not too far. Hey Andy. How's it going bud? I'll be in touch if I can make It. When is it? Is there a dedicated thread? I'll see if I can find it. (Haven't looked yet)
  15. I'd like to go to one of the bass bash events, to see how they work. What's my nearest option? I've looked through the posts, and it looks like the Manchester one may be gone(?), and my nearest option may be the NEBB...
  16. In my opinion, a very worthwhile purchase. Can't really say it has any noticeable adverse audible effects, but it does have a positive effect on speaker excursion in those inaudible frequencies. You know, the ones you can't really hear, because the driver can't really reproduce them, but which do make a speaker motor work hard ...and therefore hot. It sits there, doing what it does, no need for further comment really. Edit: I play 4 string. I dunno about low b...

  19. For your needs I totally agree with the PA speaker route. Get a decent quality powered PA speaker and maybe a preamp to shape the sound you require (as stated above, you may find you don't want an absolutely uncoloured sound) I'm SURE you won't be disappointed. (I too have a Phil Jones headphone amp and it's an ace bit of kit. Agreed, ...pricey but worthwhile)
  20. If that was blonde rather than vintage white I'd be all over it. Been looking for a blonde for time! This is close enough that if I'd not bought a Shuker from these forums TODAY I'd have it from you... Stonking bass! Good luck with the sale dude!
  21. Cash should be in your account. See you tomorrow all being well.
  22. Yeah ...I've expressed an interest, but no final deal settled on quite yet. My offer is on the table, so if you have an interest, best do it quickly.
