  1. Seen it up to the halfway mark (Corrie!).... will watch the rest in the next couple of days. There was another 6-string on in the last few weeks.... the grandson(?) of the original owner played it at the end, and I quite enjoyed it...... a rare thing as I normally don't like what people play to demo a guitar.
  2. And I bet at the end they still don’t know who the fifth Beatle is.
  3. Singles rather than albums, but there's a fair few (including me) who would buy these based on the distinctive "Stencil Circle":
  4. Courtney Barnett - Porcelain I'd accidentally put the MP3 player on Shuffle (there's only about 10 albums at a time in there, but the old memory's not so good so I don't remember what they are!) and this came up. Sounded all the better for not knowing it was coming Good for drifting away to.
  5. But I wouldn't like to pick a fight with him.
  6. Interesting to hear a different viewpoint. I took a quick listen to a couple of tracks from Loco Live, but say it comes close to It's Alive. These things often depend on how and when you were introduced to the band. As a comparison here's Cretin Hop from both albums:
  7. IMO the latter day Ramones ruined the live act by speeding up to much🙁 - what d’ya reckon?
  8. Ramones - It’s Alive The Fall - Live in London 1980
  9. I don’t know, but a thread title like “Ron Mathewson upright basses - where are they?” might be more likely to get the answer than your own user name😃.
  10. I can't remember the artist, but my Mum and Dad suggested going to a local gig for my birthday treat. So they found something at a local venue - some kind of Indian influenced world music - and asked what I thought. I said sounds good, Let's give it a go. Turned out it was a load of noodling jazz, with a bit of Indian thrown in here and there. Also the guy who was band leader 'didn't feel like talking' so one of the backing singers did all the talking. So we left at the interval, after assuring parents that I was happy that they made a good punt, but this time it didn't work out. Turns out the venue is a Jazz venue and don't even bother writing jazz into the artist descriptions .
  11. I think such bands are allowed in under variant B rules.
  12. I didn't track the whole career, but I did enjoy (and buy) the first album.
  13. I think your drummer is missing the point of desirable but useless objects.
  14. Well maybe Lars doesn't count too well 😐!
  15. So today Daft Punk announced they are splitting. Got me to thinking........ what other bands have a musical genre in their name? I think we can discount when it's simply there to announce the bands own genre.... e.g The Paul Butterfield Blues band, the Jazz Messengers
  16. Not at all. Great that you can express those feelings in a song. It's the kind of stuff I'd find hard to say to them face to face I'm afraid ☹️.
  17. Daft question? It would be if someone asked it to me - I don’t have a clue about that kind of stuff!
  18. I’d assumed that it was a deliberate humorous mis-spelling by the OP. But that’s just the kind of generous, glass-half-full kind of person I am😀😉.
  19. Struggling to think of a time I went to a gig to see the support and not the headline. Festivals however are completely different. I often go a long way down the the bill before I find a band I would want to see.
