  1. That sounds like my old one? Big but stable split in the upper horn?
  2. It's possibly a bit late but I am considering taking up Karate which according to Wiki is what Collen does. My six pack is more of a Party Seven.
  3. One of the things I have picked up on forums is that you may start a thread but, like children, you never quite know how they are going to grow up.
  4. Speaking of Def Leppard, last night I stumbled upon a fairly recent live performance of theirs. Embedded below. Now I put on the table immediately that I believe Joe Elliot to be a twonk of the first order. I've always struggled to bond with the image he portrays and recently he seems to have morphed into a bag lady. But this video I thought was amazing, almost breathtaking in it's power. How much is really live, I wonder? And the guitarist with no shirt. I looked him up - he is the same age as me - 63. If I had a torso like that I'd never wear a shirt either.
  5. Sharp eyes! Thanks.
  6. Was watching this clip and wondered about the bass - looks like a '51 style P but with 2 single coil pickups - would this have been a production model?
  7. I can sum up my view by saying 'I have found The One, but it isn't the one and only'.
  8. Martin bought my Thunderbird to put in the shop (note to self - sold it too cheap!) and when he came to collect he was really chatty, despite standing on the driveway with a mask on in the cold
  9. At one point I had a '79 Fender Musicmaster, a Squier Vista Series Musicmaster and a Squier VM Mustang that had the pickup changed to a Nordtsrand MN4, all at the same time. The Fender was the worst by some measure - heavier and clunkier with a weak sound. The Vista Series was the best, fabulous tone. The Squier Mustang was the lightest and had a slimmer neck. I did have terrible GAS for a USA Mustang - I fancied a black one with a maple neck (like the VM Squier) which was a combo made during the late 70s I think. I enquired about a half a dozen or so as and when they popped up and all of them were heavy. Then one time on reverb USA I saw one that made a thing of being 7lbs, so light ones do exist. My GAS had subsided by then.
  10. Of course, Silvia. I am dismayed that you may have been left with the impression that men are so misogynistic and shallow to believe those could possibly be a woman's only interests. I am sure you are also interested in makeup, jewelery, tanning studios, eyelashes, eyebrows, nails, washing, ironing, recipes, TV soaps ... 🤨
  11. Get one made, now you have narrowed down your wants list. I'm sure Andy would do something for you. Or have a play with the configurator at Public Peace, see what comes out.
  12. Practically giving this away, folks! More protection that a duvet cover
  13. This is the situation here. I recently sold a Thunderbird as I was never realistically going to be using it and she tried her hardest to dissuade me from selling it.
  14. Does it have the coil tap? I guess it does. This REALLY isn't doing my sellers remorse any good
  15. Bargain alert!! That is a terrific price for one of these. I had one for a while - lightweight, slim neck, punchy tone.
  16. I'm having a bit of a to-and-fro with them at the moment. I ordered a Hipshot Supertone 2 point bridge. A few days later they emailed to say it was out of stock and would I wait. 2 days later they emailed to say one was on its way as they'd had a return. It arrived in a plastic bag with bits missing - unfortunately the very bits I needed, which were the larger thread bolts. I told them this, they asked for a picture of what had arrived. Being helpful, so I thought, I included a pic of the bolt thread from the original so they could see what I was missing. I then got a fairly patronising reply saying they had sent everything as the 3 bolts were there. I got a bit snippy at that point. I'm still waiting for new stock to arrive from the USA so they can send me the missing bolts. I don't get much from them but I'd say over 50% of my dealings with them have been less than great. If I wasn't such a cheapskate I'd go elsewhere but often their prices are lower. I think the daftest one was buying a secondhand MIJ Precision 'modern style with no scratchplate, pearl finish and black headstock that was 30" scale. Lovely, not seen one of those in short scale. When it arrived it was 34" scale. I mean, really?
  17. Not a pointless waste of time and money at all. An invaluable learning experience that has given you a sense of achievement and a lot of fun, more like. I love this kind of fiddling, myself.
  18. Good man. I'd put up with the aftertaste. Or, better still, use Mrs S's toothbrush when she was at work. More seriously, thanks for good report
  19. Blue sparkle and blue LEDs - now your talking
  20. 7.5lbs would, of course, be better...
  21. Fixed that.
