1. Not sure about boiling an egg but, in the right hands, it can cook up a storm.
2. OK it's ugly and heavy but sounds superb. My Wallace AC5075XT:- Built around 1969. 2 x KT88s. In the early 70s when I was young and fit I used to gig a stereo wired bass into two AC100XTs (a lot bigger and heavier!) plus two Burman 4x12s.
3.
can F...R....O..
Just to clarify the above acronym does not stand for Feel Reasonably Optimistic.
4. Yes it is isn't it.
5. Cheers Tom. 'Twas an interesting project. I do like a challenge. (anyone wanting a five pickup bass with all bells and whistles can F...R....O.. ).
6.
out of curiosity how much would one cost for a jazz bass but with a cut out for a musicman humbucker in plain black?
PM'd.
7. ............can do a similar look with the gold finished plastic marketed by WD Music though.
8. Sorry guys, custom anodised not possible as far as I know without going to 'out of proportion' expense through specialist companies.
9. Shouldn't come accross as too distorted though. The sound will be well cushioned.
10.

"Wish I'd found out about the neck dive before buying the thing"
11.
For sure. Even if this is not a slab board, but one of the very first curved board Jazzies :-)
1st record I have of both a slab board and a curved board is the month of JUNE '62 so certainly by August they were curved only. This is a very nice example indeed! My reckoning on the stack knob -v- 3 knob system is that Leo Fender didn't simply change things just for the hell of it but to improve. Therefore I've never got too excited about acquiring a stack knob (Jaco's was one and he changed it).
12. I think that once people know that you're a bass player then they make certain assumptions about you. I usually say "Yes, like a horse".
13. I Was Born Under a Wandering Star - Lee Marvin. (But you may have to drop the key a bit)
14. BC forum member evilLordJuju will be the font of knowledge here.
15.
"What would Stevie Wonder say?"
OK, which comedian moved the piano stool?
16. Apparently lost three fingers in a bench grinder with guard in place. Happy 1st April chaps

MB1 Feedback

Splendid result with MB1 whereby a pearl pickguard was supplied for his Stingray in exchange for a cheque! Being able to locate a chequebook in this day and age is highly commendable. Cheers Martin. just noticed it's written from a Midland Bank Limited book.
18. In the case of M D Philips the pronunciation would be Loo Tae Yer - roughly translated as Toilet To You as this also describes the standard the work one may expect.
19. Smooth transaction for a pickup from Derek. Pleasure to deal with.
20. Embarrassment of the above - sax player being very unpro in his pint drinking prior to soloing. We now have a different saxman. If anyone's interested (probably not) the first number features the Jazz pickup with tone down, finger-style, and the second clip is the Precision pickup with tone open and pleccy-stylee.
21. Psst, wanna see what genuine roadworn looks like? My 1963:- Edit - apologies to the purist/collector types but the J pickup was in there when I bought it many years ago.
22. I knew as soon as I typed that what the response would be and from whom
23. But the OP wants left-handed and I don't have any left-handed plastic in stock It's going to be a challenge. Maybe if I turn a regular piece upside down or do it in the mirror?
24. *Removes glasses and false nose* "It is I, Le Doc" How wierd is wierd?
25.
He's a hero. Loving the kilt.
Yes I recognise that as the McYing tartan.
