  1. I’m fiddling around with the danelectro blue paisley right now, and I’m liking it, but I’m looking for a cheaper alternative. ($200us) I'm going to pick up a boss sd-1 as soon I stop by Guitar center. They tend to sell used for around $25 us. And there are usually several in the case.
  2. Ya'll across the pond get to see a lot of the groups I love! But they don't tour in the States... We saw Joan Jett and Heart a few weeks ago.
  3. Before I took bass playing seriously I bought then let this little gem go... Busting my gut trying to find one now... I don't miss the rest of the rig....
  4. Is there a common range for a Double bass or cello fingerboard radii? The reason I ask, I offered to do a fretless conversion on a Harmony electric bass, and the owner is very experienced with a DB and cello, and I would like to make the conversion noteworthy. Thank you for your input! Angel
  5. I got a bedroom in the new house, just putting it together. I’m going to put a couple hangers in place of the rack, but I have a single stand for headlesses.... and necklesses....
  6. My MG has inspired me to build a lineless Pbass. After that is done the MG will go up for sale.
  7. As soon as a get a backup Hohner Jack, a Westone Rail is next on the list of odd ball bases!
  8. I better check, I have several copies, but never looked at the catalog numbers. When I lived in Hollywood I used to walk by the A&M building on the way to the grocery store, I often stopped and stared at the building.
  9. Pixies: Doolittle Kiss: Alive II and my entire Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass catalogue .
  10. I think I leave my tone knob on 7 so when I turn it to 10 I feel like I did something, and it has a purpose.
  11. I just added the danelectro overdrive and after spending 5 minutes with it, I’m not impressed. It doesn’t do anything more than rolling the volume from 7 to 10 does. I’m wondering if the boss OD (yellow) might be worth a try.
  12. I skipped the 5er all together. I'm considering trying a 4 string BEAD. So many possibilities so little talent...
  13. I took my “new” 6 string Warwick to my bass lesson and I usually play with a strap seated... my strap kept getting lower and lower until it was no longer in use.... no clue how much it weighs, but maybe slightly less than a Trabant 601. But only slightly.
  14. A Jackson Kelly body would be a nice starting place as well
  15. I think I could have been just as happy with a single bridge pickup, the neck is just a bonus.
  16. I traded an unloved jazz bass for this today. It's s 1994 had a Wenge neck and fretboard. Poor pics, still on the middle of a move.
  17. Through a twist of fate my fretted Pbass and my in process project fretless bass BOTH ended up Olympic White. This is just a body at the moment but will end up with a reverse telecaster baked maple on baked maple neck with no lines or side dots. The pickguard has more than a hint of mint green. MIJ Fender 70’s body This is the bass I bought first, and I had though of de-fretting, but I wanted lineless. And it’s pretty sweet the way it is. I didn’t want two almost identical.. 2007 MIM before. after, so there is no confusion. I also had a gold gotoh bridge in the parts bin so on it went .
  18. I had to pick up a 2018 when they went on closeout I usually snub my nose at coil splitting, but this one sounds terrific when split. The solid black was boring.
  19. I just joined a couple days ago. Been unprofessionally in music for 30+ years. Vocals and harmonica at first, then 6 strings off and on for a while. I’m just seriously taking up the bass in the last year, progressing well. Favorite bass is hard to pick, maybe my 2006 Gibson Sg. Although I am learning I like a Pbass quite a lot, and am not fond of the Jazz. I have a fretless Pbass in the works, the neck should arrive in a couple weeks. We are moving this week and weekend into a new house, and I snapped a poorly lit picture before I unloaded the boot tonight, just a hair over half done.
  20. I’ll be careful what I like! I have a few joyo pedals and while I liked a couple for bass they all ended up on my skinny string board. (American Dream, Ultimate Drive were ok. Vintage OD was quite nice. Phaser was shoddy at best for bass) The Boss DS-1 won the distortion game for my tin ear over the Vintage OD, but not by much. I have a Danelectro blue paisley OD I haven’t even tried yet
