  1. She plays incredibly well, I’m for sure selling my Geddy Lee, maybe even my MIM Pbass... I have to hunt down my stash of capacitors for the tone fix, and I’m seriously considering replacing one of the volume pots with a blend knob. I did find my thicker Kydex for the pickguard, but I don’t think I need it. The next project is starting with 2 sets of Pbass pickups....
  2. My second pickup just arrived and I made a command decision earlier to order a couple blend pots. So officially she is going to be master vol/blend/tone. It seems to be the least complicated way to go, and I’m familiar with its use.
  3. Too many cameras around nowadays, for my usual response...
  4. SO...... My bridge pickup was the only thing working.... NO neck pickup, No tone.... I had run through the wiring from the back panel and saw no issues. I took the Neck pickup out last night, and flipped the plug to the CORRECT orientation....🤩 now I have a neck pickup.... kinda feel stupid since it has an arrow that shows how it fits....😂 Tone issue... now that the neck is sorted, I think there is an almost imperceptable difference between 1-11, I'm thinking it has the wrong capacitor. (got the set used) Should be a 0.1mf vs a .022-.047. It will take longer to look up the current value than it will to switch to the correct one. I'm pretty sure i have some in the spares drawer. This Bass is beyond awesome, I think I'll be selling my NEW Geddy Lee to offset the cost and to finance the next build. I have decided I am not a Jazz Bass guy, and I don't feel bad about it. Offset bodies don't feel right, but goofy Gibson shapes do... go figure... I did add a thumbrest as well, even with pilot holes I broke 3 screws installing it. Cheap screws or hard wood?
  5. I did commit to the Behringer so I'll see if there is anything offensive about it. I do have the Radial in my wish list, but with the money I save I think I'll get a synth pedal...☺️
  6. ohh that sounds nice! I’ll have to research how it’s done.
  7. I found a surf green Pbass with the full rosewood neck..... the fact that it isn’t pink is keeping me from buying it right away...
  8. I'm sorting the electronics for that one right now. I'm searching for an explorer body, double Pbass pickups and will probably get a full rosewood tele neck. Not sure if she will be fretless. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/382718-2-pickup-control-suggestions/
  9. It sounds like it should be playing over the closing credits of a 90”s Stallone action film....
  10. As long as there are no delays in the post I’m in, at least until the second week of January.
  11. I’m not sure what that is. Is it like a vari-tone? I use the volume more dynamically than tone, tone is either on zero or 11. thats why I think I could go straight to jack and have a master volume and blend. on another 2 pickup bass I have 2 volume/straight to jack, and may convert it. I had a guitar with a vari-tone. It was a 7 position tone control with a chicken head knob, I only liked 3 and 7. I’ll research components for the vari-tone, that could work as well master vol/blend/vari-tone. But same or more components as my original though.. and probably more complicated.
  12. I think i confused myself in researching further... I got to looking at the Electro Harmonix Big Muff bass deluxe pi, and the Electro Harmonix Battalion Bass Preamp and DI. Also the sansamp, and mxr offerings. These just add effects? I also realized that I use the built in amp overdrive with a pedal, so I would bypass that with a di box. No big deal really. Just to get started I did order the Behringer Ultra-DI DI600P Passive Direct Box. It was $34 US so not a huge investment.
  13. I may have to experiment, pinky on the body is how I turn the controls most of the time.
  14. Hmmm... I did have that thought in the back of my cranium, I do only need a single tone and would mostly use the neck pickup. So maybe just use the bridge as a stacked with the tone control.... I could probably get by with a dummy pickup in the bridge... On the the stacked Jazz how was the stack configured? I have a stacked on another guitar and I wired it bottom volume/top tone.
  15. My next project will have 2 sets of passive Prescision pickups. Duncan Design/MIM 250k pots. I want to minimize the number of pots. I'm thinking master volume/blend/tone. I might consider volume/volume/direct to jack. Do you have any ideas?
  16. It's a very thin .02" kydex, I use it for fret slot filler on fretless conversions. I will probably change it once I find my thicker stash, or leave it, it's just for looks anyway.
  17. Stole the pickup screws from my Geddy Lee. Scratch plate and control cover done. Second hand EMG’s..... I have no neck pickup volume and tone control but the bridge pickup sounds awesome, I’ll chase down the problem tomorrow...
