  1. I’m so sorry for your loss, it is so so devastating and difficult. When you can take stock of things a bit , I think maybe because you say your dear wife encouraged you and enjoyed seeing you play then take that as inspiration to go again. It sounds like it’s definitely what she would have wanted you to do and she would be so happy for you I’m sure. Sending you a virtual basschat hug my friends and all my very best wishes x
  2. I got my young 15 year old stepson to print me some dummy pickups as I think the look better than ramps. Both stuck with double sided tape so no screw holes and on the wal I dabbed silver paint to simulate the screw heads. Really pleased with them as I can now rest my thumb in the‘magic spot’ …..for me anyway. X
  3. Played the 100 club last night with the Martin Abrahams band, Tuesday blues thingy, we played pretty good, nice to to able to hear my bvs clearly for a change. Took my old smithy BT4 with my MC 924 as spare in case. Nice that for once I didn’t have to drive either and also glad I didn’t book any work in for today! Looking forward to a bit of a lay in , int morning 😊x
  4. What a band! Go on was my favourite album for years, played it to death 🤣x
  5. Thanks for all your help everyone,I managed to scratch the itch courtesy of the lovely Chris b on here and we a/b’d his thunder funk with my puma 900. It is undoubtedly a quality piece of kit no doubt about it but like someone said the core tone didn’t jump out at me enough and in fact made me realise that for the moment I’m very happy with what I already have. The puma is a remarkable little beast, and it’s re enforced why it’s been my main gigging head for the last 6/7 years. Thanks again Chris if you read this , ‘twas a real pleasure to meet you and for your kind offer. Basschat is indeed a wonderful community 😊x
  6. Quality assured with a genuine smithy
  7. Hi all, my two gigging heads are a tecamp puma 900 for a clean signal and a genz streamliner 900 when I want a bit of ‘grit’ so to speak.can someone please tell from their experience if a TF 750 would bring anything else to the party I haven’t already got, apart from weight/size of course. I use barefaced bb2 and super midget cabs, very rarely together I might add. Thanks in advance for any insights. 😊
  8. Definitely!
  9. Well done for your positive attitude and I sincerely hope things continue to work out well for you 😊🤞
  10. Totally normal behaviour 🤣 enjoy your well earned holiday my friend 😎👌
  11. I’m so glad this is a 34’ scale, if it were 32’ I’d be in trouble. Beautiful machines of course but too much of a stretch neck wise for me. Good luck with things, I’m sure it won’t hang around long !
  12. Leigh’s a long time wal user I believe. Always a pleasure to see/hear his playing.great stuff!
  13. Any news on the 10” cabs yet please?
  14. Don’t suppose you’ve any reason to come down to Sussex soon? 🤣
  15. That explains why every’big famous band ‘ gig in a big venue I’ve ever been to the bass sound is usually an indistinguishable mush along with the drums .level 42 and rush shows included. I know different venues /difficult acoustics etc but when people are so called professionals am i asking too much to expect better?? Maybe, maybe not. mids are king to being able to distinguish the bass and it to cut through . An slightly unhappy graphic equaliser face makes me very happy 🤣
  16. definitely lighter than my 924, yes. Really digging the curved ends of the pickups, the ole thumb sits in just dandy. Have to say that I’m used to heavy basses so weight isn’t too much of an issue for me ( yet anyway) . Always liked the fact that (in my opinion anyway) you can dial in some very WAL ish type tones on these beauties. Creamy and punchy. Love ‘em indeed 👌
  17. Awww bless ya Steve, it’s gone to a good home rest assured. Thanks again bud. !
  18. Just took delivery of a pretty rare beast these days, an Ibby mc 2924. Absolutely thrilled with it! I’ve a mc 924 ‘85 I’ve owned since new, bit battered but still fantastic. This thing is…. Well, a bit my ‘refined’ I’d say. Loving the smaller body shape and like my old one a neck to die for. I’ve Wals, smith’s and stingrays but keep coming back to the humble musician. Appy days! Thanks to biscuity Boyle ( Steve) for a really pleasant transaction. Will try to post some pics
  19. Sorry I can’t help you on this but often wondered if it’s a bit of a gimmick? Do they really bring anything more to the table in a real world situation? Who knows??
  20. Often wondered about these, good to hear ! Enjoy 👌
  21. I’ve only ever owned one,a recent 2019 , still have it. Very nice but definitely susceptible to moving which I find disappointing really. Never keep it in extremes of temperature either .
  22. Just to resurrect this, has anyone got an real world experience/comparisons with one of these little buggers please?
  23. Same here! Best colour for these little buggers I think x
  24. Don’t think you can go far wrong with a puma, form factor is just as you wish, and the ‘taste’ control really gives some grind if you want. Definitely not bland in my humble opinion, but each to his own hey! My 900 and bb2 really is a one rig for all set up. Good luck with your search x
  25. I’m really looking forward to seeing the 10 inch cabs too! Great stuff x
