  1. One is good for metal . The other one isn't . Sorry , not much help , but they're both nice basses ..
  2. I remember hearing about the track they released about mick hucknall having sex with a rabbit He was holding back the ears ..
  3. I find that bass synth sounds vary to an extent also. Some might sound off putting , and some great . A lot may depend if you have a certain sound that you are after .
  4. You may have to " make an aggregate device " . I think that's the term .There is a video on you tube explaining . For example , my line 6 toneport uxb and my behringer usb mixer connected , and got recognised no problem I purchased a behringer um audio interface, and came into the same problem that you seem to have here. You will need to go into your utilities folder . Checkout you tube about creating aggregate device for your audio interface ..
  5. I think that you summed up mustaine and megadeth pretty acurately . I've always preferred metallica though. I only had peace sells for many years, but now have a fair bit of their back catalogue . I'd say peace sells and rust in peace are killer albums . The last 2 occasions I saw megadeth were at the Astoria , back in the 2000's The first time , they rocked . They had one of their classic line ups . The last time , they were truly awful and dull . Probably because he had session musicians . A young " girl" starting a fight in the crowd didn't help in a packed venue by the bar..
  6. Listened on my iPad .nice job .
  7. Thought I'd best update .. I read the manual . I found out that when inputting an external instrument , you have to set VCA Mode to Drone before doing anything else . Success! No midi , just the input at the back of the moog . I spent a fair bit of time , and tbh and imho it sounded dreadful . That's me that's got to get to grips with it , If I'm in the mood I may have another mess around with that scenario. I plugged my bass in the moog , and again imho it was poor. What I also did just for fun, was plug the moog into my Roland bass combo which has various effects etc . Roland bass micro cube . That didn't sound too bad . The only thing of note there, was the t-wah wouldnt agree with the moog What I'll probably do , is keep all instruments seperate when recording , though I may plug the drum machine into various effects etc or through the amp. I am considering offloading the drum machine , and getting something more modern and smaller,. That's something for another time . I'll leave it there for now ...
  8. Thanks DAD 😼 Of course I haven't read the manual 😺 I did watch a few you tube clips etc ,and it seemed straightforward enough . I did try connecting to the clock sequencer at the back . The drum machine is a Boss DR-202 if that means anything I plugged my bass into the input socket , and nothing doing there either . I will follow your advice , and report back . My electric shaver packed up, so I was faffing around looking at reviews etc which has made the time flyβ°πŸ¦… Will keep you updated ..
  9. After finally getting to grips with the grandmother over the last few weeks , I heard that I could plug my old Boss drum machine into it. Well, I did that and it was a waste of time . I tried using the audio input , by using a cable with the mini Socket from the drum machine on one end and using a larger phono Jack to connect to the grandmothers audio input socket . Still nothing . I know that midi is supposedly complicated, but what am I doing wrong ? I'd expect that the scenario would appear to all synths and drum machines , but what do I know ? Thanking you in advance ..😼
  10. Apologies for another post , but I think there was a Washburn bass in the last decade that had a whammy bar ..
  11. It's the nuts ! 😼 so many people liked the look of it . They have some cool colours too . Shame not yellow though 😼
  12. My Washburn is the same as Cato , but with a twist. Back in the mid '90s I got carried away at band rehearsals . I punched the body. This gave me a couple of years of grief. One repair after another via Denmark street. Then one day , graham Noden in Denmark street suggested taking the active circuitry out ( if the pickups were strong enough ). Job done. Bass has always been my go to bass. Most bands I was in ( rock covers / blues) preferred the new sound . If I got another one as I'm no longer gigging , I'd keep those and offload the rest . If I eventually get one , I'd get it defretted....
  13. If it's a status , I may have to invest 😼
  14. A bit of a mystery of what's going on with Jason now .. His solo project was costing him an arm and a leg . Seems to have disappeared now. Probably doing low key stuff like the dog 'n' duck keeping low-key πŸ•πŸ¦†
  15. This rings a bell .. I have a line 6 ux1 and that works perfectly , so forget that for a moment . I had issues when I lost the installation cd , so ended up buying I think the same model behringer as yours . I had the same problem . I found the solution by going onto you tube . You need to "create an aggregate device ." I did this on my iMac . I'm just about to nod off now πŸ›, but if problem not resolved tomorrow I'll see if I can find it . zzz...
  16. You've just reminded me . I have 2 cd versions as well 😺. Great album ..
  17. As long as you enjoy what you're doing, that's what matters . From being very ltd in ability, I had desire to play in a band and eventually live. I come from a big family , and there was no way I could really practice properly until I was in my early 20's . Looking after nieces and nephews also , it was heavy going . I managed to be good friends with a couple of musicians at work , and the guitarist is one of my closest friends to this day, even though he lives miles away . He showed me a lot . He used to do birthday gigs , and he and a few friends managed to help me play my 1st gig ( my 30th birthday ) in front of 200 people in a pub we hired out. ( well the upstairs ) . It showed I could actually play and hold my own. I improved. Stopped for a few years . I was in a few bands , and after being rusty got into it , but although I always made sure I looked as though it's enjoying myself, playing to one man and his deaf dog πŸ• plus Dodgy pub landlords put me off for good . I bought a moog synth a couple of years ago, and am only now getting to grips with it . I record short bits on soundcloud for practice and to improve in my new angle of enjoying playing my gear . No band members causing friction or missing rehearsals etc . In other words, if I can do it ..so can you ! If you're not in the mood ..so what !😼
  18. No! But it means you have your priorities right 😺
  19. Great points Paul . Back when cds came out, we were told that it was th3 future etc etc and I started to sell vinyl and buy CDs . Some albums were recorded direct metal mastering ( master of puppets for example as the original pressing sounded like it was recorded in greasy joe's 🍟πŸ₯©) Then we have remastered CDs such as thr stones with original artwork for about Β£8 Back in the day , it was something to look forward to , when buying vinyl . As we can now listen to music more or less 24/7 on phones etc while on the bus etc the novelty seems to be gone . I too have many ( cheaply paid for 😼) downloads and ripping stuff onto iTunes for example is a pita with glitches etc. Vinyl is harder to maintain . What I'll probably do, is keep CDs as I like the sound quality and if a virus happens I'll still have a hard copy 😼
  20. Trouble with jmj , is that he sells expensive speakers as well as music . If it were me , I'd just buy the remastered CDs ( latest versions );.
  21. Yeah, that green bass is the nuts. As I only play at home, I did think of buying it . This would mean I'd have to let a bass go . Or maybe all of them ..😼
  22. Years ago when mummy got me my first piece of firewood ( Hondo 2 ) , I just thought of using a pick . As I got older and started reading tuition books and after seeing stevie Harris, I thought I'd concentrate on fingers only . Over the years , I've had mixed results which took time . What I found out , was If I play with one finger only I sound better than using any other technique . While trying to do 3 fingers I was making unnecessary noises which got picked up by the pickups and my guitar friend who was teaching me . After joining a band where the guitarist wanted me to use a pick,I couldn't do it and was baffled . It wasn't until gigging , I found that I could do both pick and fingers ,which came about by accident . Now, I can do any of those , as I feel ..
  23. 17 seconds is a great album πŸ˜ΌπŸ‘ Totally different from what I normally listen to. I'm not sure if there are any cure albums as good . I find them patchy , imho. Peace sells is my fave megadeth album , but I think that Dave mustaine sounds too much like Richard dastardly and his voice is the weakest link imho
