  2. Thanks again . I remember somewhere you saying that you went all into software. I admire you for doing that. I've browsed various forums about the subject , hardware v software etc . With all the apps I have on iPad , it's something I do wonder if I'll do it one day . I doubt if I'll do it , as I'm more of a plug 'n' play kind of guy . I used to tend to look at recording as irritating and taking the joy out of something but now am trying to just get something half decent for short soundcloud sounds . Not exactly mutt lange 😬 I think I will get Logic in the not too distant , as you say it's the next step from GarageBand . Alchemy is cool , and I have launchpad mini . Seems a no brainier ..
  3. Thanks @BigRedX I have a 2017 16 gb iMac . I don't know whether to upgrade to M1 MacBook or Mac mini . I do need another external hard drive should it be better to keep it . I use GarageBand , but still find Reason 12 a challenge , and I have ableton live lite ( free version ) . I need to put more effort into learning these properly . I have an iPad mini 6 also, but I tend to just use random apps into the mixer . I understand that straight bass direct signal without effects is the way to go . Is there much if any difference ,of plugging bass straight into input socket and using the x l r input from Zoom B3? It does seem that in the bigger picture that I do have lots of the same formulas of sound in the effects units so to speak. Wah/ fuzz/ chorus etc. :The main go to effects that I do use mostly I are the digitech bass-synth-wah and the Digitech Bass whammy . The Boss Me8-b has a distinct analogue sound but the synth effect is the best thing there. Maybe it's time to sell a few of those effects and the Boss micro cube amp 🤔 I got a bit obsessed about having 'toys' for the bass for home use , but having a couple of synths I seem to be more into them now . I have seen various people on you tube using effects with synths . Just wondering if I did that, would I be better off using synths direct into mixer instead ? It does sound like I could do a lot more by using the effects in Reason . Anymore help, and pointers appreciated 😬

  5. Can't do you tube links at the moment , but my immediate 3; Scorpions still loving you , Tangerine Dream love on a real train and Anthrax Ballad ..😬
  6. Oops ! One other thing to mention ; bass combo is stereo , as is the boss me 8b multi effects unit 😬
  7. While stumbling across the many empty boxes of various music manufacturers in my spare bedroom of my small flat ( plus the multitude of cables ), I have been wondering do I need all of the effects that I have . Plus I have been finally trying to record stuff in a more polished fashion. I seem to be unusually getting more patient with age with my persistence . However, I would like some guidance please regarding the placement of effects in my behringer usb mixer. The questions I have are probably basic ; Regarding recording bass : do I place effects into separate effects channel or can I place them like when gigging- bass/ effect/input i do have a zoom B3 which i connect to xlr via x l r cable , so that’s straightforward enough. However, I do have an old Boss ME8B which I may want to use on occasion. I still have a Roland Bass Cube RX which has a headphone/ mixer output. Where would that go? Shoukd I still keep it , as I also have cheap behringer monitors. I also have lots of mini guitar effects pedals etc and wondering if they would be surplus to requirements. my fave pedals ( bass/ synth / wah and bass whammy) will stay. Regarding using effects with moogs : could I plug them into the B3 or Boss me8b? What I’m trying to do here, is to stop pulling plugs out all the time etc and have everything in place as much as I can. All the gear and no idea Thanks in advance 😬
  8. Glad the meeting went well . I haven't met Pete, but we've 'spoke ' a few times on here over the years Top bloke .🙂
  9. Also sorry to hear about your situation . It is a steal , but I 'd say that the main / only reason this hasn't sold is because of the cost of living crisis . There are a few basses that are still hanging around here, of which some have had their asking prices continually cut . My advice fwiw is to not reduce price ,but just bump it on a regular basis . It'll sell eventually ,and possibly quicker as you have postal options . This is a bump I guess, Glwts
  10. Great colour , with a nice maple neck and fingerboard . This will be gone soon . If one of my basses sold ...Glwts
  11. Played a few gigs in Watford in the early 2000s . I've been there , but cannot remember if I played that venue . I saw a couple of bands there , including a friends covers band . From what I can remember , it was a busy and lively venue. was there a crazy landlady there ?🤔 I did play the beehive ( again memory a bit sketchy) , and my last gig being the sportsman where the landlord was a top bloke ensuring drinks were on the house .
  12. Thanks for this . Looks like I'll have to sign up for the free trial and cancel when it expires . 😼👍
  13. I purchased a fretless bass ( vester) ,and was wondering what strings were fitted . Of all the basses I have /had , the action and feel of the bass is the best of all . The bass was purchased in 1995 /‘96 and still sounds and feel amazing. Sound hasn’t changed much if at all. I did fit them on my telecaster for a short time, which I used to have and they were great on them too. Thanks to another basschatter , for letting me know what they were. The only downside, is that they are apparently very expensive strings..
  14. Thanks for reply . 😼 I've been banging my head trying to sort out the measurements in spare odd shaped Victorian bedroom . Do you know the width and height when fully assembled ? ( don't worry if you haven't info to hand ) . It may well be too bulky for the space etc . cheers 🙂

  17. I have quite a few of their sub-zero mini guitar effects . I also purchased the small metal flight case / pedalboard to accommodate them complete with daisy chain transformer . They look really cool , and are very good quality for not much dosh. They do sell them as packs for genre of music you may like , or separate . All good . I have a sub -zero 4 channel midi interface also . That's good also . I find the service from G4M top notch , and they use DPD which are good in my area 🤞
  18. Tom waits . Couldn't stand him initially . This was because my bosses played his entire works in the office in an almost daily basis . I heard his earlier country sounding stuff . One track I still really like though ' step right up ' . That is brilliant . He did an album with les claypool on it . Pronably the last album I heard of his . I was at 5hat company for a long time 🙂 I know he is very talented . After watching the BBC Documentary ..I finally got him a ! 😬 I like this track, but the video was doing my head in . Now I finally have ad free you tube , I'll have to check him out miote thoroughly . Thanks for the reminder ..🙂
  19. I was at both of those . The vai gig was brilliant . It's a shame that Tony macalpine is underused imho , as he is a phenomenal guitar player and keyboardist . Man of many talents .
  20. Great gig ! Possibly the hottest gig ever 🥵. Getting home in the early hrs after missing the last tube was not fun .. one of the very few gigs at the Astoria where we were upstairs .
