  1. listened to a live version I think it's more like this, could be wrong though G |------------------------------------------------------ D |-----0-5-7-5-0----7-10-7-10-7-10---------------------- A |---------------8--------------------------------------- E |------------------------------------------------------
  2. thankfully not, I know i'm in a minority but can't stand the smell of curry and don't like spicy food
  3. and Chuck if you believe this http://www.clashmusic.com/features/10-things-you-never-knew-about-chuck-berry I guess a perversion isn't exclusive to one person edit, and if you get down to number 10 I was at that gig, front row
  4. yeah he was right old perv, didn't he have to pay out a load of compo (bribe) to victims of his camera in the ladies ruse? still love his music though
  5. the trouble I have with John Lydon I never know whether to he's being serious or just saying things to get a reaction, generally an entertaining watch though, the best I'm a Celebrity when he was in the jungle
  6. like the Sex Pistols in Huddersfield on Boxing Day? Don't believe the hype, even Sid enjoyed it apparently
  7. imo, there's a world of difference between babies a pubescent girls (not saying in any way that's ok btw)
  8. there's loads of pop/rock stars that have behaved badly towards young girls (and Boys), most got away with it GG didn't, if we didn't listen to their records it would be a long list of what we can't listen too, I can listen to his records and enjoy them (fortunately I never got into the Lost Prophets that could be tricky), in fact two of the most memorable gigs I went to were the Glitter Band (different versions) and they went down a storm when they did GG songs, people loved it, probably because you don't hear them anymore and it was a little bit naughty
  9. won't make me like or dislike their music any more or less, but I do make a point of watching programmes when the likes of Rick Wakeman or (in recent years) Noel Gallagher is in them, a little bit of self depreciation goes a long way imo
  10. but you've got a lot more watts, Mr Popular
  11. never noticed that before, but yeah live vocals, I reckon or bloody good miming which, judging by the way they're 'playing' their instruments wouldn't happen
  12. keeps Dad amused, I've suffered the same fate myself
  13. so if you live in London you can just about get away with it (but you must be severely restricting your options) provided the venue has PA and drum shells but I suspect it's a no no anywhere else, I've had a go at busking a couple of times in Nottingham, caught the bus with my acoustic guitar small Roland amp and mic and stand, not a very pleasant experience tbh (the busking or the bus ride)
  14. this, it's not just your own gear, we split the PA lights etc up between us, we all carry our share, I wouldn't entertain having a band member that hasn't got transport
  15. there's been a thread about this before, I think the consensus was being able to make a living at it, i.e. pack up your day job
  16. the perfect storm, badly behaved band that parents didn't like ( a well worn ploy), a brilliant songwriter, management who knew what they were doing and right place right time, I suspect quiet a few on here were too old to get Oasis, my kids played their records a lot and I got to like them
  17. as he says be under 30, (unless you're seasick steve) be talented, and above all be very very lucky, ( the Oasis doc on iplayer, unless they'd not blagged their way onto a Glasgow gig it might never have happened) how many hundreds of thousands of bands have there been and how many have even got to the stage where they can make a living at it? a very small percentage
  18. unlike most on here I liked Oasis (it's almost unfashionable to say that isn't it?), well the first 2 albums anyway, but I like the Beatles and Glam rock,. I'll have to give this a watch, thanks for the heads up
  19. I did try this but you have to hold down footswitch 1 for a second or 2 to go into this mode, then I had trouble with some of the effects being turned off, with the B1on it's permanently in this mode so much simpler, for what I use it for anyway, I've lent it to a friend at the moment I'll have another play when I get it back, I got it because some said the effects were better than the B1on but I didn't find this, not the ones I use anyway
  20. I've tried a B3 but found it not easy to switch between patches, I couldn't find a way of doing it with a single operation of the footswitch (although there may be a way I've just not found), that and the size meant I went back to the B1on
  21. this looks a decent price considering the cost of new Precisions these days, don't like sunburst myself https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152870120346?ul_noapp=true
  22. tend to get a lot of repeated stuff after a couple of pages on a topic, people can't be bothered to read them all
  23. best bet is get a gig on a multi band bill, (say you've got loads of mates who will come and see you), that way you don't need much gear only need about 8 songs and you'll have a target if it's about 4 months away, that's what we did anyway, that was 12 years and about 400 gigs ago
  24. on one of our own songs I finish it by playing all four strings open, wonder what chord that is? Em11?
  25. sounds like you wished you'd never asked , I know what you mean, millions of people out there have been put off learning an instrument because they've been told they need loads of theory when all they want is to play a tune, I've 'taught' a couple of people to play guitar by tuning it to open E and just barring the top 2 or 3 strings so they could get a tune out it, they both went on to learn 'properly'
