    I've just recorded this with my zoom B3 (it's the intro to Tube Station) both with the bass drive sim on but one without the 160 comp compressor and on e with it on before the bass drive, the bottom one is compressed

    you don't say how long it's been 'sitting' at the retailers, as with all these consumer laws 'reasonable' is used a lot, a huge grey area, why don't you ask the retailer for the loan of an amp till yours is repaired?

    record sales have been in decline since the hey day of the 70's way before streaming, it has become harder to assess popularity of music because of streaming, but venues are closing because they can't make money out of music, because not enough punters want to attend, simple as that

    +1, live music is in decline (well Rock is), the next generation, with a few exceptions, don't have the passion for it anymore, too many other things in competition for youngster's attention these days, the fact that record sales have been in decline for a long time now must say something

    I would have thought it was simple, if you think compression does something and you like it, use it, if you think it does nothing, or you don't like it what it does, don't use it, I really don't see the point in one camp trying to convince the other by starting to insult them, me? I can't tell what they do but I use a sansamp bass drive sim so it's not surprising

    it's happened on occasions when someone has asked to join in on a song, they're always terrible, then you can't get rid of them, our singer's a bit of a soft touch when asked and normally will give them a go, (fortunately his partner is very good at dealing with drunks) , I always say, if I get asked, we're not karaoke that's next door

    so on it's own it's only 50 watts louder (which is next to nothing) than the Rumble 500, bit strange

    anybody compared the zoom bass driver sim to the sansamp? because that has a mid control late edit, on mine I have bass on -10 treble on -10, presence on -10 and mid on 0 as I want a bit of drive without affecting the EQ

    all this it true, I used the word 'just' to emphasise the point that there's no digital black magic going on here just someone deciding what multi fx settings you need to achieve a certain sound, nothing wrong with that, Trace Elliot were doing it years ago with their pre shape buttons

    forgive my cynicism, but aren't amp modellers just preset EQ with a bit of distortion in there if needed, and, if say you're modelling an Ampeg SVT doesn't it matter what you are actually playing through as well? I know that doesn't apply in this case because the modellor is built in

    Good man, if you can't come on here and have a good moan what's the world coming too? Incidentally, we kept things on good terms when the our Drummer and Guitarist left, we've used them both as deps since, so you're right, never fall out with someone unless it's unavoidable you never know what the future holds

    announcing stuff on Facebook without clearing it with everybody first is bad form and leads to difficulties all round, but some people don't seem to have any idea about good manners, if you want to do the gig they want you to do, do it if it fits in well with you, if not or you feel badly let down tell them to flip off

    yeah I do that for our guitarist, admits he can't sing but doesn't stop him trying, at a gig recently I kept turning him down all to no avail, still too loud, at half time I found out we'd mixed up the the usual inputs on the mixer, I'd been turning myself down

    I use a B1on for gigs, smaller, lighter, I don't change it mid song or make adjustments on the fly but the B3 is better for making adjustments just to see what happens, so I guess I'm very similar

    I had a MB 210 combo for a few years, no problem with it, nice tone and very loud, just moved onto something lighter, I don't think Marshall do class D or Neo speakers do they?

    surely, whoever starts the song sets the tempo? unless you're using a click track of some sort (having said that we still sometimes speed up when the drummer comes in), as I said earlier lots of bands play tracks faster live than the recorded version, it's called adrenalin

    after hearing the Dickies version of paranoid the Sabbath one always sounds a bit ploddy to me (and definitely Nights in White Satin)

    the internet has completely changed the face of retailing, Maplin and Toy R us are the latest victims, even Newsagents (I used to own one) are nearly all gone, around where I live anyway, who has a newspaper delivered these days?newspaper circulation is falling of a cliff

    because they can't resist showing off, it's the same reason most of us get up on a stage if we're being honest otherwise we'd just be happy rehearsing all the time (nothing wrong with that, some people are), but they really should resist the temptation, if the customer is a beginner they just intimidate them, if they're experienced they just think what a silly billy

    I'm not that comfortable to be honest, they're usually run by some muso, who stands there taking sharp intakes of breath, the last time I went in one to try out an acoustic guitar I played 'That's Entertainment' and was told I was doing it in the wrong Key!

    Never heard a fingerstyle player play Motorhead very well, but yeah I know what you mean, with a bit of EQ fiddling both styles will usually do the job

    or half the watts if they're Trace Elliot, sorry just got back from the pub, the point is manufacturers measure watts in different ways and, IMO, for some reason Class D watts just don't seem as loud, maybe class A/B amps compress the signal, but not as much as valve amps but more than class D amps?
