yes that's what I meant, but why? to my ears the keys were high in the mix, the only reason I can think of he's not sure he can play it well enough anymore, so he's hiding behind the keys, why would he have keys at all on such a bass driven song? bit like lots of backing vocals to his singing, it's to cover for him, but as it has been mentioned he is 78, better than no McCartney at all, and at least we were spared Hey Jude 😄

just watched Paul McCartney at the Cavern which was shown on BBC1 on Christmas Day, enjoyed it, 2 things struck me, he had a lot of of help from the backing vocals, unsurprising bearing in mind his singing is a bit dodgy these days and fair enough. What did surprise me was the keyboards were doing the bass line to 'I saw Her Standing There' bit of a shocker, I've always struggled with that bass line and admired the way Macca could play it and sing at the same time, it would seem he no longer can.

I seem to remember that NL4 and NL2's aren't interchangeable with each other, one won't plug into another's socket, well I had trouble once when I ordered the wrong plug

a lot of bands initially get together because they're mates, or become mates, like the Beatles, it's like being in a gang, it's only later on when bands get together because they're musicians, and then differences soon surface unless there's a clearly defined leader who decides things, the other follow for the money

this is more likely, it's very hard to stay 'mates' with someone when when band 'personalities' become more and more of a problem, and if you're on tour and living in each other pockets it's pretty much impossible I would imagine

tbh, I don't think making money is the only consideration when running a live music venue, it's a love of live music as well, maybe that's part of the problem, some people who run live music pubs let the pub side of it down, like a decent pint, and some only book bands they like, not what will brings in the punters

shame, played there 2 or 3 times a year, always a good gig, especially when Rock City threw everybody out from a gig at 9.30 so they could start the disco. Hopefully someone will buy it off Greene King and keep it as a music venue
