  1. I watch it on freeview, don't have sky, way to poor value for money ymmv
  2. anybody that missed it, like me, it's on next Thursday 2am
  3. this is the case with all open strings I've found, I prefer the sound of open A because it's twangy, whereas some prefer the dull thud of the E string fretted at the 5th fret, it is a very different sound, more than once I checked my tuning to confirm they are indeed the same note
  4. when I'm doing demos with audacity I only get it right once then just copy and paste, with a drum machine track it's straight forward I had to tidy up a live recording a few months ago, that was interesting, it was copy and paste and tempo change 😂
  5. had the misfortune to see him twice as Sham's frontman, first time at Concrete Jungle festival, we were expecting Pursey, Parsons was on guitar, thought that the guy walking around in a Millwall shirt was a roadie, most buggered off after a few songs. Second time, I gave him a couple of songs then went next door to see a Fleetwood Mac tribute, one of the few that stayed said he spent the whole gig baiting the security guys
  6. I think Richie Blackmore nicked the bass line from another song for Black Night edit, Ricky Nelsons Summertime
  7. absolutely, I once saw something worse though, somebody doing slap bass on Alright Now, on verse 😱
  8. As I understand it, although Bandcamp don't take any fee for the sale physical copy sales they inform you about, you still have to send off the CD or whatever, they do offset this by debiting your account a percentage for physical sales then they take it off any downloads, so don't do downloads I guess. Big Cartel is also free
  9. I've got a copy of Vital Idol, on vinyl, labels the wrong way on, i.e. side A label is Side B, side B label is side A, don't suppose it's worth much
  10. I did say the if it stops people having to go into hospital and dying, which will obviously only happen when the people at most risk have been vaccinated, which hopefully one dose will do
  11. if it stops people having to go into hospital and dying why can't we just treat it like normal flu? life doesn't stop for that
  12. apparently Salisbury has a very nice Cathedral that, Russians in particular, enjoy visiting
  13. certainly lacks the bollocks of the Beatles version
  14. whatever version, what a great song, probably one of my favourite Beatle's songs, bit of a throwaway at the time I believe
  15. this is true, but I think it was mostly irresponsible youngsters, especially when the Universities came back, Freshers Week? but local boozers, on the whole were well managed and people behaved themselves
  16. you are entitled to your opinion but the figures suggest something different, we went through the summer with schools shut and pubs open and the virus was under control, as soon as the education system went back, boom. You can't blame the cooler weather either, otherwise places like India and Brazil wouldn't have a problem
  17. Hospitality was sacrificed at the alter of Education, the City Centre pubs where all the youngster went gave the wrong impression, most of the local boozers went out of their way to follow the rules and kept infections right down, but were kicked in the bollocks for their efforts
  18. another one who cheats on the high bit in Help
  19. ok I get that, but shouldn't the input gain be set as high as possible before clipping occurs (some amps like Ashdown have a VU meter for this), then control the volume with the master, it just seems a bit odd to me to do it the other way round, I would have thought it's best to give the preamp the best possible signal, maybe I'm missing something
  20. what is the difference between having the input gain on full (which I do using a passive P bass) and using the master volume to control loudness , or the other way round?
  21. I get this An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: 9vBEmKc67fJWnAMy) Learn More I use chrome, youtube plays ok when I go directly to the site, I've tried clearing the cache and rebooting my computer, i's the same on Fretboard
  22. well your right about that, as has been said before some of the old Trace amps are ridiculously loud and rated at 200 watts! but you would expect the same manufacturer to rate their amps the same way
  23. very confusing. As I've said before I had an ABM 500 EVO iii, was not impressed, soon move it on it seemed underpowered to me, maybe I got a duff one
  24. Ah! insider knowledge, that's right, but I always put that one on the bottom, I'm not bothered if someone else had owned or touched something, for instance I've never understood why some people want a new car, talk about paying through the nose, I'm quite happy with a 3 year old one, but I guess there wouldn't be any second hand ones if everyone was like me. Like @LeftyJ (I'm cack handed as well so the chances of trying before buying is pretty much zero) I always buy basses and other stuff like amps and speakers second hand, that way if you don't get on with them you can move them on without too much of a hit to the pocket, but thankfully some by new stuff
  25. what's the difference between the MAG and ABM ranges?
